A Daughter of Luxury (1922) --- Lost Silent Film ?
2 July 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

This 1922 comedy/drama is sadly now listed as unknown. Based on the play The Imposter by Leonard Merrick, Michael Morton (New York, 20 Dec 1910), the film adaptation was produced by the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, starring Agnes Ayres, and featuring in the cast, Zasu Pitts. All I can offer the reader is this brief synopsis, hopefully a copy of this film survives.

A lawsuit temporarily reduces Mary Fenton ( Agnes Ayres ) to poverty, and circumstances result in her posing as heiress Mary Cosgrove in the Walford mansion. The real Mary Cosgrove ( Zasu Pitts )arrives and demands Mary's arrest. There are explanations, Mary foils an attempted jewel robbery, and the matter is happily resolved by the marriage of Mary and Blake Walford ( Tom Gallery ).
