Trivia

The original 1919 Broadway play upon which this movie was based would eventually become the basis for the Broadway musical "No, No Nanette", which is often cited as the reason that Broadway producer and Boston Red Sox owner _Harry Frazee_ sent _Babe Ruth_ to the New York Yankees in exchange for $100,000. However, "No, No Nanette" debuted in 1925, five years after the deal. "My Lady Friends" is the more likely reason that Frazee sold Ruth's contract as it was Frazee's only production to debut at the time of the deal. ("My Lady Friends" opened December 3, 1919, and closed the following June.) His two previous productions had closed in March and May, 1919. His next production, "Dulcy" - which would be filmed in 1923, 1930 and 1940 - opened in August, 1921. See more »
