At the harvest fiesta, Don Luis Baldarama ( George Periolat ) expects to announce the betrothal of his son, Audre ( William E. Lawrence ), to Isabella Chavez ( Jean Acker ), the daughter of a neighbouring don, but Audre plans to elope with Erolinda Vargas ( Carmel Myers ), the daughter of the ranch superintendent. They are surprised by Vargas, who believes that his daughter has been dishonoured and shoots Audre. The latter's vaqueros, believing him to be murdered, storm the house, but Erolinda holds them at bay. Audre pacifies his men, then kisses Erolinda in their sight, thus claiming her as his bride.
This 1921 silent melodrama was produced by The Universal Film Manufacturing, starring William E. Lawrence and Carmel Myers. The survival status of The Kiss is sadly listed as unknown.
