Jim Montgomery ( Thomas Meighan ) a small town boy, is framed by a pair of burglars, arrested for murder, and sentenced to Sing Sing for life. There he makes friends with "Old Bill," ( Paul Everton ) his cell-mate. When news arrives of Jim's mother's illness, Bill helps him escape, and after attending her funeral Jim goes to California. He becomes an officer in a prosperous company and falls in love with the owner's daughter, Molly Bryant ( Lois Wilson ). Despite his past she believes him to be innocent, and they are married. A detective finds Jim but decides to leave matters as they stand, later, he is cleared by a criminal's last-minute confession.
This 1921 crime/drama was based on the novel The Quarry by John A. Moroso and the film version produced by Famous Players-Lasky Corporation. Starring popular silent actors Thomas Meighan and Lois Wilson, sadly this may now be a lost silent film.
