The Avenging Arrow (1921) --- Lost Adventure Serial
2 July 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Like all lost silent serials, finding an in-depth synopsis is almost impossible. The Avenging Arrow was based on the novel by Arthur Preston Hankins and was written and adapted for film by Jack Cunningham. Produced and released by the Pathé Exchange it starred popular actress, Ruth Roland who plays Anita Delgado, whose female ancestors all have been killed by a mysterious arrow on or about their 21st birthday. The feisty actress decides to solve the mystery and spends 15 furiously paced two-reel chapters evading the bizarre killer, aided in a rather minor way by a dandified sissy leading man Edward Hearn. Surviving lobby cards and film scenes show heroine Ruth Roland, engaged in many harrowing predicaments.
