Buster Keaton is the whole show in this astonishingly ingenious short, which is filled with many 'how-did-Keaton-do-that' moments. Keaton is in love with the girl living next door but her father hates Keaton's dad. The friction between the families creates a series of absurd situations. Keaton's strange antics complicate things even more. I don't think I have to say that Keaton's acrobatic gags leave you speechless. No other comedian works harder. And it all looks so effortless! The man has boundless energy. I actually watched the film twice because I had a feeling I had missed some of the gags. The second viewing proved to me that it is important to see Keaton's films more than once if you don't want to miss anything. My favorite moment in the film involves Keaton trying to elude the police. The film is naive in the best possible way, and very very funny. Definitely worth revisiting.
