PamelaShort5 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Frances Wadsworth ( Dorothy Gish ) is extremely superstitious and her life is guided by cards, signs and dream books. The cards predict she will meet a blonde-haired man and when she attends a friends wedding, she meets blonde Malcolm Dale ( Ralph Graves ) they fall in love, but he must wait until the stars are right before she will let him kiss her. But then the cards predict a blonde woman will enter Malcolm's life, sure enough, Malcolm has to escort a blonde overweight millionaire's daughter. France's is annoyed, but then the cards predict a dark and handsome man will be attracted to her. A brunette fortune hunter appears, Maurice Rennard ( Rudolph Valentino )and she accepts his proposal of marriage, then a black cat crosses her path and that is the end of him. She decides to spend a night alone at her girlfriend's apartment, Malcolm comes, and both are knocked out by burglars. When they come to, they decide to marry. When the wedding night arrives, Frances postpones it because of rain.

What a tragedy this light hearted comedy is lost. This film was supervised by D.W Griffith and directed by Griffith alumnus Elmer Clifton. Rudolph Valentino plays the dark-haired suitor and apparently Dorothy Gish tried to persuade Griffith to sign him on to a contract, but Griffith could not see much talent in the young man. However, shortly after this film, Valentino would become a major star and the most popular of that era with female film goers.
