Dance star Ted Shawn appears with Gloria Swanson as the faun in a fantasy sequence. While Shawn appeared in a number of silent films (including a series of short films with Norma Gould for the Edison Company), his wife, Ruth St. Denis always denied working in silent films, though both dancers are featured in the famous Babylonian step scene in Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916).
