Martin Rankin ( J. Barney Sherry ) is in love with his stenographer, Phyllis Dunbar ( Gloria Swanson ), but she is engaged to Bobbie Warner ( Darrell Foss ), a dancer. Phyllis' sister Inah ( Ann Kroman ) learns that she is pregnant, and after her lover Billy abandons her, Inah attempts suicide. Phyllis asks Bobbie for enough money to send Inah away quietly and after he refuses, she appeals to Martin, offering to marry him in exchange for the money. Martin marries her but insists that they live together merely as friends until she learns to love him. Later Phyllis asks her husband for permission to visit Bobbie, but when she realizes that the young man spends much of his time drinking and philandering, she returns to the husband whom she has come to love. Ashamed of his behaviour, Billy returns to Inah and marries her.
This 1918 silent drama was produced by the Triangle Film Corporation and starred the popular actress, Gloria Swanson. Tragically, Her Decision is now listed as a lost silent film.
