Lost Mae Marsh Film
20 March 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Mary Garland ( Mae Marsh ) encourages her sweetheart, Judd Minot ( E.K. Lincoln ), a Maine fisherman, to develop his sculpting talents and urges him to go with art connoisseur Henry Bliss ( George Fawcett ) to New York City. However, while in the big city Judd soon forgets Mary and becomes attached to Bliss's attractive daughter Myrna ( Hedda Hopper ). Although he wins fame as an artist, the exciting society life he leads with Myrna causes his work to suffer. When Mary learns of Judd's stagnation and partying style of living with Myrna, she rushes to New York to rescue him. When he sees her, Judd realizes that dear Mary has always been the prime inspiration for all his statues and renews his love for her.

This 1918 romance/drama was produced by the Goldwyn Pictures Corporation and starred the popular actress Mae Marsh. Hedda Hopper who would become Hollywood's notorious gossip columnist, played Myrna in this sadly now lost silent film. Fans of Mae Marsh and silent cinema hope for a surviving copy to someday resurface.
