Warning: Spoilers
John Warfield ( Joe King ) a social worker meets radical socialist Guido Garcia ( Francis McDonald ) and the two establish a shelter in San Francisco for the unfortunate. Goldie Shepard ( Claire Anderson ), whose father is an alcoholic, develops an interest in socialism and becomes Warfield's stenographer. Goldie's hatred of the rich soon increases when her father is killed by an automobile in which society woman Lorraine Van Allen ( Alma Rubens ) is riding. As a result from the accident, Lorraine also becomes a supporter of the shelter. Meanwhile, Warfield's mother dies in England and leaves him a large estate. Warfield marries Goldie and takes her to England and he becomes shocked by her love for the grandeur and soon decides to donate his estate to the poor and return to San Francisco. When Guido, who had been Goldie's suitor, hears of her marriage, he kills her, and then leaps from a bridge to his death. Later, Warfield and Lorraine marry and they convert the English mansion into a home for children.

This 1918 drama was produced by the Triangle Film Corporation starring tragic silent film actress Alma Rubens. Sadly this film now remains lost.
