Warning: Spoilers
Marie Clark ( Winifred Greenwood ), works as an astrologer named Madame Thebe, tells the story of her past life to Henry Martin ( Harvey Clark ), a client who wishes to marry her. Years before, her jealous husband had threatened the life of another of her clients, Franklin Davis ( George Field ) and Marie fainted during a struggle between the two and awoke to find her husband dead and a pistol in her hand. The threat of exposure from Franklin forced her to give up her daughter and move to a distant city with him, there she met and fell in love with a Phillip Morse ( Edward Coxen ). Now transferred to New York, Phillip falls in love with Marie's grown daughter Violet ( Laura Sears ), and Marie, not knowing the identity of Phillip's lover, sends Franklin to break up the romance. After she learns that Violet is her daughter, Martin obtains evidence that Franklin is the murderer of Marie's first husband. Marie tells her daughter the story of the past and agrees to marry Martin.

This interesting 1916 drama produced by Mutual Film, sadly now remains a lost silent film.
