Little Miss Happiness (1916) - Lost
20 May 2016 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Unable to tolerate life in the city, Sadie ( Zena Keefe ) leaves her husband, Max Barker ( Leo Kennedy ), and with her baby, goes back to the village where she was born. Then, afraid to tell her father that she plans to raise a baby without a father, she pretends that she is still childless, and asks Lucy White ( June Caprice ) to take care of the infant for a few months. Lucy quickly agrees, and hoping to preserve Sadie's secret, she claims that the child is really her own, and even conceals the truth from her sweetheart, Dave Allen ( Harry Hilliard ). Risking the condemnation of the community, which has already ostracized Lucy for having a baby out of wedlock, Dave decides to stand by his sweetheart. He then marries her after Max and Sadie are reconciled and take back their child.

This 1916 silent drama was produced by the Fox Film Corporation starring actress June Caprice who was cast in Mary Pickford type stories, this one being a little reminiscent of Pickford's extremely popular film, Tess of the Storm Country. Sadly, Little Miss Happiness does not seemed to have survived for viewing comparison.
