Little Lady Eileen ( Marguerite Clark ) a young Irish girl who believes in fairies, trusts the word of a cobbler who tells her she will see the face of her future husband, if she looks into the water of a nearby well. As she is gazing into the water a man's face does appear, at the very same time as Stanley Churchill ( Vernon Steele ) walks by. Immediately struck by the charming girl, he falls in love and they begin a romance. However, Stanley has a twin brother, Sir George who sees this as a great opportunity to gain some of Eileen's family wealth. He pretends to be Stanley and quickly marries Eileen. When she discovers his deceit, the distraught girls runs away, George goes after her, but is knocked off his horse by one of her fairy friends. George dies from his injuries and Eileen is now free to marry the real Stanley.

What a sad loss this Marguerite Clark film is. Produced by Adolph Zukor and directed by J. Searle Dawley , this 1916 fantasy/drama used double exposure photography for Vernon Steele's character, as he played the role of the twin brothers. New York Times declared; " Dainty and delectable Marguerite Clark, the complete ingénue of the screen, has a photo-play after her own heart." They went on to detail this lovely film, stating, There is at least one reel that is completely captivating, " It is the Irish reel that little Eileen and her sweetheart lead to the merry music of the fiddles." And it talks about the fairies who take a leaf out of Irish lore, and at the proper moment, intercede for the downfall of the villain. Marguerite Clark would again charm audiences in Snow White, released two months after Little Lady Eileen, making her Mary Pickford's closet screen rival.
