The Long Chance (1915) - Unknown ?
15 September 2016 | by See all my reviews

Important note: This is not a film review. I hope to be able to find and add as many silent film synopsis of films that have a survival status of unknown or presumed lost. I try to do as much research as I can and it is not my intention to deceive anyone, for sometimes the film does exist and some presumed lost films are still being discovered. I am more than delighted if someone has knowledge of a film listed as lost but survives, as I wish all silent films did survive. I hope the reader enjoys this brief synopsis.

Harley Hennage ( Frank Keenan ), a gambler, loves Marie ( Beryle Boughton ), but remains silent when he realizes that she is in love with Oliver Corblay ( Fred Church ), a prospector. After Corblay and Marie marry, Harley moves to the distant town of San Pasqual and does not see his old sweetheart until her husband is killed while staking a claim in the desert. Harley secures a job for Marie and acts as a father to her daughter Donna ( Stella Razeto ) until the girl grows to adulthood and falls in love with Bob McGraw ( Jack Nelson ). After Marie's death, Harley learns that T. Morgan Carey ( Harry Blaising ) murdered Corblay in order to secure his claim, whereupon Harley forces Carey to make restitution to Donna. Later, however, he is killed in a duel with Borax O'Rourke ( Walter Newman ), a bandit who insulted his life-long love's daughter.

This 1915 silent western was based from the novel The Long Chance by Peter Bernard Kyne, starring Frank Keenan. The survival status of The Long Chance (1915) is listed in the American Silent Feature Film Database as; No holdings located in archives.
