DeMille and the Working Classes
28 November 2003 | by (London, England) – See all my reviews

In the 'Chimmie Fadden' series of films, DeMille was portraying immigrant Irish urban life to a middle class audience. It was the closest they would get to the inner cities and allowed them to engage with social issues from a safe distance.
