A war story in which good photography is the most pleasing feature. The spectacle of the officers and members of an entire company of Union soldiers in a drunken orgy, insulting Southern women, is not in keeping with military traditions. The plot of this film does not arouse the right kind of emotions in the observer and it can hardly be called a success on this account. - The Moving Picture World, December 20, 1913
