Muriel Ostriche here appears as a young girl left alone in the world in a Western mining camp. She is trained up for the dancing halls. The scenes carry a certain convincing atmosphere and the girl's sad end, after reading her fortune in the cards, bring the story to an appropriate close. Just a sketchy bit, handled pleasingly. - The Moving Picture World, January 17, 1914
