The splendid acting of Henry Walthall and the equally splendid photography together with the superb settings constitute the chief merits of this two-reel play. The story itself is of the "revenge" variety and contains little that is new. It is the film adaptation of a short story, the like of which may be found in almost any magazine. It is, nevertheless, a production of some merit and the climax is especially strong. - The Moving Picture World, April 18, 1914
