Cecil B. DeMille and Oscar Apfel
12 December 2003 | by (London, England) – See all my reviews

The 33 year old Cecil B. DeMille was being mentored by Oscar Apfel as director in this film. He obviously didn't learn much because DeMille didn't turn out to be a good director. He was a good oil painter (in the sense that he could create spectacle and attention to detail in his films), but lacked substance in terms of story and relationships.
