" Early Silent Serial Film Lost "
14 December 2013 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Who Will Marry Mary? was a sequel to the Edison Film Company's popular 1912 What Happened To Mary? starring Mary Fuller. Consisting of six one-reel episodes, this series details how Mary inherits a wealthy silver mine in California. The riches cause a great problem for Mary's romantic life, as she now has the problem of determining whether she is loved for herself or for her $122,000 dollar fortune. She discovers suitor Duke Leonardo De Ferrara ( Richard Tucker ) has been dishonest with her and dispenses with him for Captain Justin Bradford ( Ben Wilson ) who almost loses his life to protect the damsel-in-distress. Only one complete and one partial installment of the six episode serial survives. As one of the popular stars of her era, this is another tragic loss for Mary Fuller's fans and early silent cinema.
