Synopsis: A story centered on a man and his teddy bear, who comes to life as the result of a childhood wish.
Why We're Excited: We'll admit that when we first heard about Ted, we thought it might just be an extended version of a "Family Guy" episode substituting a teddy bear for Brian the dog--or a version of Yogi Bear gone bad. But halfway through the trailer, we were cracking up and quickly added this to our must-see list. As a fellow editor stated, "Who knew how satisfying it would be seeing Mark Wahlberg beaten up by a teddy bear?"
Why We're Not: The words "crass" and "Seth MacFarlane" go hand in hand, so we weren't surprised to see fart jokes and potty humor in the first trailer. Perhaps it's asking too much, but we hope MacFarlane will rise to the occasion and take his humor to the next level.
Trivia: The "white trash girl names" scene was done in a few takes, without cue cards for Mark Wahlberg, who wrote down a wide number of female names that sound "white trash".
