Ike, after wrecking the edifice, departs for other fields of conquest, leaving the two would-be heroes to the tender mercies of the two Mexican ex-highwaymen and cut-throats whom they have insulted by attempting to take unto themselves their promised brides. They commune with their pedal extremities and learn that they are in fit condition to do a mile in less than nothing, closely pursued by the greasers, thirsting for their blood. After a wild chase, they are captured, and are about to be hanged. Bad Ike becomes a hero, he having become peeved at the antics of the Mexican police, which he thought were directed towards him personally, had corralled and herded them over the landscape, and running them into the scene of Heinie's and Luke's finish. He, unaided, disperses the wild angry mob with his trusty irons, and we leave Heinie, Luke and Ike, a triumvirate unity.
