- The purpose of the film is to gain perspective and knowledge about natural disasters in the hopes that it will provide others with the knowhow to prepare, protect, and recover from future events. We are featuring residents from Nassau County, New York, Moore, Oklahoma, Joplin, Missouri, and New Orleans, Louisiana. We are learning from those who have been displaced and had their lives turned upside down in the past, in order to aide the recovery process for those recently devastated. In the end we hope that this will help others who may be in the path of a future natural event prepare themselves for what comes before, during, and after the storm arrives. With the news vans gone, what do they do now? We feel that everyone needs to know that it's not a matter of if, but a matter of when. We must help educate those who may not know what to do when it happens.
