- This documentary gives an honest look at the people, processes, and issues surrounding humane slaughter and local meat farming. While a lot of attention has been given to the suffering of animals in industrial slaughterhouses, the problem of humane violations at smaller, local facilities has gone virtually unnoticed. Many people have the misconception that local will always mean more humane. While this is true for how the animals live freely on pasture, it is not always the case when it's time for them to die. We hope to create a catalyst for dialogue among vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores. But putting dietary ideologies aside, we can work together to make the treatment of these animals at the time of slaughter more humane.

The industry, however, calls this "humane". Do you find this humane, watch this undercover video and judge for yourself.

Following a public outcry, the mayor of Alès promptly announced the suspension of the slaughterhouse's operations and initiated an investigation into its administration. The 55-minute footage from the scene of the incident exposed the profoundly inhumane treatment of animals during the slaughter, along with a disregard for hygiene regulations in the workplace.
- In the period 13th-20th January, 2012, Animal Liberation NSW went undercover inside Hawkesbury Valley Abattoir, where shocking animal abuses that violated Australian food and animal laws were captured on camera. Animals, including cattle and pigs, were subjected to brutal violence and killing like inadequate stunning, throat-slitting, skinning and electric shock.

Pigs were routinely stabbed into the eyes and ears with a stunning equipment, a pig was beaten to death with a sledgehammer, while another pig accidentally ran into the scalding tank during an escape attempt. Authorities were appalled upon viewing the footage.
