- First acquaintances with Chester Zoo and some of its residents, notably the elephants, lions, rhinoceros and lemur cage communities, as well as the staff which takes care of them on a daily basis. However there is more then routine, as the breeding program, essential for the survival of species in danger of extinction in the wild, requires special provisions, whenever possible recreating natural conditions.
- Keepers need to enter a sick python's enclosure in order to administer treatment. Alan Woodward looks in on the Eastern Bongos and checks to see if pregnant Nibbles has given birth yet. Rafters the Giraffe has an illness which is causing him pain when he walks. Andy Wolfenden braves the Otter enclosure to clean out their pool.
- The team have to take on the professionals at their own game using tech to help them. Suzi takes on DIY expert Tommy Walsh, Pollyanna takes on world champion tenpin bowler Hayley White, Jason takes on go karting champion Mark Litchfield, Ortis takes on survivalist Myke Hawke Pierce and Jon takes on BAFTA award winning director William Gregor.
- Compilation show featuring the boys taking a Rolls Royce Ghost, Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG and "Bentley Mulsanne" to Albania to see which would be best for the local mafia; Jeremy tests the Skoda Yeti and John Bishop in the reasonably priced car.

- In this first episode of the third series, Zoo Days is now coming from Colchester Zoo. We learn of emotionally scarred Elephant Zola who, while not liking baby elephants, has become pregnant herself. The Sea Lions are being trained to get used to medical equipment. Amur Tigers Igor and Anoushka receive a special Christmas present from their keepers. At the hunting dogs enclosure cameras are being installed in their house to monitor them in case of problems.
- As a form of enrichment, African Lion Subu is being given some animal skin and fur wrapped round some barrels to chew on for breakfast. As keeper Nicki Upsher move on to pastures new, keeper Adam Gore learns the ropes of training the Giraffes. Over at the Mangabey-Moongoose enclosure Sputnik the Mangabey is being overly protective of his group by keeping the Mongooses at bay. Newly pedicured Kestrel Fluffy is displaying for the crowds.
- In the early hours of the morning Zola the Elephant's waters broke and the keepers keep waiting for her to give birth. At the Southdown Sheep enclosure expectant mother Matilda gives birth. Bengal White Tiger Sasha is given his lunch on the run.
- The Chimps are given stinging nettles as a treat but they have to work to get them. Over at the Elephant house the prospects don't look good for the birth of Zola's baby. Musang the Binturong is waiting for his new mate, Veri, who is on her way from a zoo in France. The inquisitive Vultures take a particular interest in the camera crew. At the Squirrel Monkey enclosure Flossie and her baby Rio are removed for fear that she might be sick and could be contagious.
- At the Hunting Dog enclosure Depti the dominant female is taken to the vets with a suspected infected uterus. With the Sea Lions, Hayley Jones and Paris run through several cues that she has learned. Flossie the Squirrel Monkey continues to be monitored as test results are awaited. Preparations are underway at the Elephant house for Jambo's move to Valencia.
- At the Squirrel Monkey enclosure there is bad news. Jambo the Elephant sets off for his new life in Valencia. At the Sea Lion enclosure Winnipeg and Sydney work on their painting skills. After one of the Banded Mongooses is attacked zoo curator Clive Barwick has to decide whether to remove them from the Mangabeys enclosure.
- Depti the Hunting Dog is rushed into surgery as she needs a hysterectomy. Jasmine the Seal needs treatment on her eye and keepers decide to drain the seals' pool to beach her, making treatment easier to administer. Amur Tiger Anoushka is separated from her mate Igor as she is pregnant.
- Jambo the Elephant arrives at his new home of Bioparc Valencia. Musang the Binturong gets to meet his new mate, Veri. At the Sea Lion enclosure Hayley Jones informs the public about the Sea Lions while Sarah and Kate work them through their routines.
- There is bad news at the Tiger enclosure as pregnant Anoushka is discovered not to be a pure bred Amur Tiger and that she shouldn't really be bred from. There are new babies in both the Meerkat and Ring Tailed Lemur enclosures. New Giraffe keeper Adam Gore has to use his new training to manoeuvre Ed the Giraffe into a position that he can be shot with darts full of medicine. The Crown Cranes are moved into the same enclosure as the Ostriches.
- Anoushka the Tiger moves into her birthing den, into which keepers have installed cameras to keep an eye on her. Unfortunately Anoushka doesn't appear to like being watched, as she rips them out. After their successful introduction to the Ostriches, the Crown Cranes are now introduced to the Giraffes, Zebras and Rhinos.
- After Anoushka the Tiger had been spending more time outside instead of in her birthing den with her cubs, keepers decide to enter to investigate. Richard Hazelgrove supplies the Leaf Cutter Ants with plenty of cuttings from the trees in the grounds that they can cut up and convert into food. Aardvark Kiyo, now 5 months old, is almost indistinguishable from the adults in the group. The Gelada Baboons are given a swinging barrel containing pellets to make them work for their treats.
- Zoo and wildlife vet John Lewis visits Zola the elephant to try and diagnose why she is currently in a bad mood. Seven keepers are required to restrain Merlin the Rocky Mountain Goat so that a problem with his hoof can be treated. Oq the Aardvark is isolated so she can give birth without her offspring being trampled underfoot.
- Now well past her birth date, zoo director Anthony Tropeano goes to check on Zola the Elephant. Hayley Jones gets her first public display in charge of the Sea Lions. The Giant Anteaters are treated to mashed up avocados from inside the keepers' make-shift termite mound. As the new Orangutan enclosure nears completion, elderly male Rajang completes his training.
- Dende the Amur Leopard is being trained to become desensitised to a stethoscope so a genetic heart murmur can be checked by a vet. As Zola the elephant's due date approaches a blood sample is needed to monitor her progesterone levels. The new baby aardvark is taken home on a night by zoo curator Sarah Forsyth to treat a skin rash and to prevent it being squashed by the mother during the night.
- After some play fighting, Jambo the elephant has broken a tusk and will need a visit from the dentist. At the Meerkat enclosure 2 females are introduced to the all male group. After previously being shot in the wing after escaping from the zoo, Gilberta the Eagle Owl is now reluctant to fly and is visiting the vet to figure out why. The baby Aardvark is now old enough to be left alone with mum, but the baby's dad Adela, who was moved out of the main burrow so Oq could give birth, has received some painful scratches on his stomach from female Aardvark Puq.
- Jambo the Elephant receives his visit from the dentist. Over night there has been a birth in the Squirrel Monkey enclosure. Adela the Aardvark is reunited with mum and baby in the burrow. After being ostracised by the rest of his group elderly Ring Tailed Lemur Noir is trained to do as he's told to help in the future when it's anticipated that he'll need to go to the vets more often.
- Three Cheetahs born in 2006 need to be examined, to see if a leg deformity, which was discovered when they were born, has corrected itself as they have got older and if it might be a genetic deformity. Jez Smith attempts target training on White Rhinos Emily and Cynthia. Jambo the Elephant's upcoming move to a zoo in Valencia is discussed. At the Pallas Cat enclosure the male cats need separating from the females to prevent inbreeding.
- The test results are in for the three Cheetahs and it's good news and bad news. White Rhino Simba needs a pressure sore on his leg treating as well as a mud bath to treat his cracked skin. The Rocky Mountain Goats are being moved to an enclosure with softer terrain as the hard terrain they are currently on is causing them to limp. Some of the female Mandrills need to be caught to they can be transported to Chester Zoo.
- New keeper Hayley Jones has a bonding session with the Sea Lions. Keepers need to perform a DNA test on newly named baby Aardvark Kiyo, to work out what sex it is. To prepare elderly Orangutan Rajang for his move to his new enclosure, he is being trained to present his shoulder so he can be anaesthetised. This will reduce the stress on Rajang when it is time to move than having to dart him. The young Crowned Cranes need to be wormed and ringed.
- After being driven out when they were young, the Banded Mongooses are being reintroduced to the enclosure they once shared with the Mangabeys. Zola the pregnant Elephant has passed her mucus plug and the keepers keep a close eye on her, waiting for her to give birth. Bearded Dragon Bonnie is taken to the vet to determine why she is bloated.
- Back at Chester Zoo, there are 6 new baby Ring Tailed Lemurs over on Lemur Island. On Penguin Island the baby Humboldt Penguins have begun to hatch. Darren Langford checks on the Tawny Frogmouths to see if any of their eggs have hatched. Strolch the Spectacled Bear is visited by an eye surgeon.
- Margaret the baby Giraffe takes her first steps outside into the paddock. The botanic team replant the indoor enclosure for the Sumatran Orangutans. The new baby Red Ruffed Lemurs are examined to find out what sex they are. Keeper Andy Wolfenden feeds the Kangaroos. On Penguin Island keeper Clare Rafe feeds the smaller Humboldt Penguin chicks by hand. In the Rhino House, Indian Rhinos Patna and Baatschi are introduced to each other.
- Keepers attempt to build a wall in the Asian Elephant enclosure to give Sheba a good night's rest away from the younger members of the herd. Strolch the Spectacled Bear is let outside for the first time since his examination. Keepers try to separate Sheridan the Capybara from the rest of his group in preparation for his departure from the zoo. The Asian Short Clawed Otters are made to work to get their food. Rapidly maturing Spectacled Owl chick Sky is moved to a new enclosure.
- Indian Rhinos Patna and Baatschi are let out into the paddock together for the first time. Junior the Mandrill is taken to the vet for his final medical checks before being sent to a zoo in Russia. Resident vet James Chatterton experiments with using Mexican Kissing Bugs to take a blood sample from Junior. Alan Woodward checks on the construction of the new Cheetah enclosure. Keeper Darren Langford supplementary feeds the baby Tawny Frogmouths. The Bactrian Camels have begun their summer moult.
