Welcome to IMDb's most powerful title search. Using the options below you can combine a variety of the types of information we catalog to create extremely specific searches. Want Canadian horror movies of the 1970s that at least 100 IMDb users have given an average rating above a 6? You can find them here.

Remember, all the fields below are optional (though you should fill out at least one so there's something to search for). Please note that when you're given the option of a range (two date boxes for release date, or two boxes for min/max number of votes), you do not need to fill out both boxes. Filling out the 'min' box will give you results of things larger/after; filling out the 'max' box will give you results of things smaller/before.

Note: An alternate way to submit your search is to press your keyboard "Enter" key either after clicking on a check box (while there's a dotted border around it), or after setting focus on a text field (such as "Number of Votes").

Title Type

Release Date

If you would like to search for titles released before, on, or after certain dates(e.g. titles released on March 13th, 1987 or later), put 1987-03-13 in the first date box, and leave the second box blank. If you would like to search for titles released before a certain date (e.g. titles released no later than 1952), leave the first box blank, and put 1952 in the second box. If you would like to search for titles released between two dates, put the earlier date in the first box and the later date in the second box.

User Rating

Number of Votes

To restrict your search by number of votes, enter a minimum value in the first box to get titles with more than that number of votes, and/or a maximum value in the second box to get titles with less than that number of votes. Remember, neither is required, so if you want only titles that have at least 1000 votes, all you have to enter is 1000 in the first box, and you can leave the "maximum" box blank.

Color Info

Search for a notable object, concept, style or aspect.
The title search currently only allows you to filter by one keyword at a time. If you'd like to search for titles using multiple keywords, please consider using MoKA, our keyword analyzer.

Filming Locations

Search for words that might appear in the plot summary.
This can be tricky because you're relying on someone else's description of the plot. Try to use words that are going to be unique and unmistakable, and try to avoid phrases. This will only find whole words, not partial words.

Production Status

Select one or more Production Statuses to get back search results of titles in any of the statuses selected. (The selection of multiple statuses performs an OR search, rather than an AND).
