- A victory over neighboring state Vaishai has always eluded Magadh Samrat Ajaatshatru despite being winning and taking control over all neighboring states. Wounded, lost and on the run, Ajaatshatru dons the guise of a Vaishali soldier and takes shelter with a woman named Amrapali and they fall in love with each other. Ajaatshatru finds an ally in Senapati Balbadhra Singh and both start a plot to gain control of Vaishali. Vaishali Samrat comes to know about Ajaatshatru and Amrapali's liaison with him, he sentences her with a death penalty. Ajaatshatru is enraged at this, he gathers together his armies and storms the unsuspecting Vaishali and virtually burns the city down, killing almost everyone in it. This accomplished, he rushes to free his beloved from the dungeons. He does set her free but it is not the same Amrapali; this Amrapali is quite different. She is not at all thrilled to be in the presence of her conqueror lover. She teaches him what he won in the battle ground but what he lost in reality.
- Mohan Sharma (Tarun Bose) is a workaholic whose life changes dramatically after his wife dies giving birth to their daughter Uma (Sharmila Tagore). When Kishore finds out, he is devastated because his sister cannot get married; his mother passes away, and Kishore loses his sanity and is hospitalized in a mental institution. Will Kishore ever get better? Will Laxmi ever get married?

A practical Gopal must now use all his resources to find out the truth behind the ghost story, secure his land against a greedy Rana, and advocate his right to the estate that his father had left him from none other than his stepmother, who has schemed with her brother Kailash to ensure that Gopal continues to not only be deprived of his rightful heritage, but also lose Seema to Kailash.

Amita lives a wealthy lifestyle with her sister, Sunita, and is all set to tell her the good news that she finds out that Sunita has fallen in love with him also. Amita decides to give up on Jitendra in her sisters' interest. Shortly thereafter she receives a marriage proposal from wealthy Vikram Varma, the brother of a Director of the newspaper, for Sunita's hand. Will Amita seek this opportunity to wed Sunita with Vikram - and have Jitendra for herself?
- Pratap lives a wealthy lifestyle in a mansion along with his mother, Maharani. He is married to Parvati but the couple are childless. Then differences arise between the two on one hand, and Maharani and Pratap on the other. Parvati leaves and moves in with Dr. Bharati and his wife, while Pratap moves out to his own mansion. When Pratap gets the news that Parvati has given birth to a boy, he goes to visit her and secretly abducts the child. When he is unable to find a woman to breast-feed the child, he patches-up with Parvati and she moves back in along with an orphaned child, Shomu. The couple name their child, Shankar, who becomes friendly with Shomu much to the chagrin of Pratap, who instructs his staff to house Shomu in the stables. Parvati loves both boys equally, and the two children grow up almost like brothers, with Shankar falling in love with wealthy Seema, and Shomu wooing village belle Shaguna much to the displeasure of her to-be father-in-law, Balram, who complains to Pratap, who, in turn, asks Shomu to leave. Subsequently Shomu falls very ill and Parvati wants to go and see him. Pratap makes it clear that if she leaves - then she will not be welcomed back. The question remains what will Parvati do under these circumstances?
- Ali Baba finds a cave of treasures belonging to a gang of bandits. When the bandits realize there have been intruders, they seek revenge. Ali Baba must try to outwit his pursuers before he gets killed.

When Monish returns he runs into Deviyani, but is told that the person he has seen is a Lucknow based prostitute, Pannabai. Is Deviyani still alive? Who is Pannabai? What happened to Suparna?

Asha's dad wants her to get married to Ashwini, and he soon announces their engagement. Ashwini finds out that Asha is in love with Vikas, and arranges an accident for Vikas. Vikas survives the accident, but loses his eyesight. After this incident, Vikas does not want to burden himself on Asha, and strikes up a new friendship with Dr. Anjali. Meanwhile, Ashwini informs Asha that Vikas has passed away in the accident, and Asha reluctantly marries Ashwini. The question remains, will those Vikas and Asha be able to meet during their lifetimes?
- Grey-haired, comically parsimonious widower Gokulchand lives a middle-class lifestyle in Agra, India, runs a shop selling essential food items, along with his sons, Manohar and Kishore. While Manohar is employed and married to Devki, and has two children, Roopa and Munna, Kishore is studying Engineering. Gokulchand would like to get rich and enjoy life to it's fullest, in order to this he invests in a lottery - which he does not win - but ends up inheriting his brother, Nihalchand's estate and wealth - over 10 Lakh Rupees. The family move into a palatial mansion, Manohar quits his job, and Gokulchand closes down his shop. Shortly thereafter Gokulchand announces that he wants to go to Kashmir for a holiday. Kishore is in love with Rita and would like to get married to her. The family know that Gokulchand will never approve of this as Rita comes from a poor family and lives with her widowed aunt, so they decide to get them engaged in Gokulchand's absence. Devki borrows an expensive diamond necklace from her friend, Savitri, and, in turn, lends it to Rita. For a very long time, the family do not hear from Gokulchand, and when he returns home - they get a shock - for he has dyed his hair black, and has an Caucasian girlfriend, Dolly Little, along with her to-be son-in-law, Jerry; a son, William and daughter, Kitty. Chaos and acrimony reign when Gokulchand makes it clear that he is going to get married to Dolly, as well as the subsequent theft of twenty five Thousand Rupees, which Gokulchand suspects was both stolen by Kishore. Things get even more complicated when the family are asked to leave, and while re-locating to a shanty hut, they find the necklace missing. The questions remain what will be the outcome of Gokulchand's marriage; that of his estranged family; and how they will repay the cost of the missing necklace?
