- DISSONANCE is composed of documentary material of diverse kinds, juxtaposed on an HD wide-screen, in a challenging formal manner. The opening sequence is composed of 3 screens, each with a single shot on it, lasting 50 minutes; the interaction between the 3 images is force which compels interest. Following this sequence are a number of other much quicker shots, often enigmatic. The conclusion is abrupt. I have no idea what it means, only that it poetically probes the meaning of life, and offers no conclusions. It is meant, on many levels, to disturb the viewer.

- What is war? What are the costs of war? How does war affect those who are asked to fight it? For the very first time, a documentary film examines a single battle of a three year conflict, the forgotten war. By closely examining the actual participants -- the Americans, The Generals, the Chinese enemy, the South Korean, the Greeks who fought alongside the Americans, coupled with current politicians and historians -- the audience can see first hand how a war affects people nearly sixty years later. Edward Herrmann narrates, featuring US Con. Charles Rangel, Former US Congressman Newt Gingrich, John Eisenhower, Oliver North, the South Korean Prime Minister and US Senator Richard Lugar of the Foreign Relations Committee. A truly anti war/pro veteran document.
- From 1953, when the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed, Korea got two first names. North and South. Since then, two Koreas moved on to different directions. South Korea is now almost in top ten largest economy in the world and North Korea is still one of the poorest countries in the world with their distinctive system and philosophy. Starting from late 1990s, North Koreans started to defect their country. Mostly crossed border into China and some luckily got to South Korea. There are about 30,000 defectors living in South Korea since then. However, since mid 2000s, a number of them started to leave South Korea and go abroad. There is no statistics of how many left, but it's expected to be around 2,000. When I was studying in London, I happened to meet one of them. He lived in UK for eight years and had lots of interesting stories I have not heard of before. Stories of his harsh life in the South, rather than the North. There are lots of books, documentaries, and films that focus on the cruelty of North Korea and the perils of defecting the country. But not many focus on how satisfied they are with their lives in the South. North Korea is always the dangerous, pariah state and South Korea is considered as the safe place, or 'heaven' as some defectors call it in the beginning stage. After meeting Choi, I started my journey to check how defectors struggle to settle down in South Korea and see what kind of prejudice they face. I filmed most of it in Europe and South Korea.
