- Shimeshi is about a unique restaurant that accepts only one customer a day. It is called "Le Bon Vivre", tucked away in some back alley of the bustling city, that serves "lost food." Not anyone can easily get a reservation. That person has to have circumstances or are struggling on which path to take, and are currently at the crossroad of his life. Not only that, he must request for a dish that's lost in this world, a dish that has a significance in his life and now only exists in his memory. The staff of "Le Bon Vivre" consists of Terayashiki Renichi (Murakami Jun), the chef who has a discerning skill in reproducing dishes that are lost in this world; Oze Kiyoi (Hayashi Kento), the second chef who is responsible for researching recipes and information regarding the requested dishes; and Ikeyama Juri (Manaka Ayu), the owner and maître d'hÃ'tel of "Le Bon Vivre". The three will do their best to recreate this lost dish, and serve it to their guests.
- Rinka Umezawa is a housewife who pursues things that will bring her small happiness in life. Her husband Masabumi holds a stern belief that he will support his wife. Rinka begins to work part-time at a bank. She visits her clients' homes. Sometimes, she even helps her elderly clients' with their house chores. This builds a strong level of trust with her clients. One day, she visits client Kojo Hirabayashi. At his home, she meets his grandchild Kota who came to ask for money. Her encounter with Kota changes her. Soon, Rinka embezzles one hundred million yen from her bank and runs away. Two years later, Rinka's former high school friends Yuko Okazaki and Aki Nakaji trace her embezzlement case and face their own darkness.

- Iwata Koichi (Nakamura Aoi) and Kagawa Midori (Sakurai Minami) are second-year students at Tozaiyama High School. One day, while coming home from school, they discover a shooting star rising up in the sky. The next day, Midori sees a shining figure in school and everyone on the school grounds starts talking about a ghost. At that point, a mysterious transfer student called Yamazawa Norio (Hongo Kanata) suddenly arrives at the school and moves in to live next door to Koichi. Strange things begin to happen frequently around Koichi whenever Norio appears. The reason and objective of Norio's arrival in this world is gradually revealed.
- Saeba Ryo is a private detective and gun-for-hire who acts as the arbiter of justice. He is an urban bounty hunter out for good not exclusively using or deploying noble tactics. His partner is Makimura Kaori, a woman who dies and has her heart transplanted to another woman, Xiang Ying. It is the latter who comes to Ryo now.

- Around the time the atmosphere in the world is filled with cheer in preparation for Christmas, there are people completely detached from the gaiety with which Christmas Eve is eagerly anticipated. Some 20 days to Christmas, Daiwa Shunsuke and Orihara Shuko, a former couple who work at a children's apparel company, learns that it will cease business at Christmas. With even its adjoining after-school care centre being shut down, Shuko decides to return to Niigata. Tadokoro Kohei, an elementary school boy who goes to the centre, is distressed by his parents. They are close to divorce and he wants to do something. He asks with Shuko to go with him to the Yokohama osteopathic clinic where his father works, but encounters debt-collecting gangsters over there. These gangsters are kindhearted small-timers who have descended into the underworld business although not by choice. The three groups seek love, get betrayed and have troubles. Even so, they struggle hard in their attempt to take a step out. Will the former couple be able to convey the love they have for each other? Can the boy prevent the divorce of his parents and protect his family? Will the small-time gangsters be able to hold on to love and tread the respectable path? These three groups somehow get entangled in this story with laughter and tears. Will Christmas miracles happen?
- One day, Fujimaki Daisuke, a dull middle-aged salaryman who works for a trading company, is ordered to "temporarily transfer" to Asunaro University's cheering squad instead of getting laid off, on the grounds that the cheering squad of company president's alma mater is on the verge of being dissolved. At an assembly where the old boys are gathered, the secretary general announces that Fujimaki will be accepted and made the head of the cheering squad. He is thrown into the squad. As he gets antiquated customs "Always have your school uniform on", "Reply 'Ossu'", "A senior's word is the law" drilled into him by old boy Saito Yuichi, he becomes hooked on the depth of the philosophy of supporting people in a visceral way.
