- To Philip's horror, captain Kendrick confirms chief officer Stratton's decision to stops the search for Claire, Shawn and Belle after one hour once a life raft is found, ripped-up as by a shark and blood-smeared. Willow tries to get back in his good books in chief of 'Shan's brat'. Dr. Alan Reibert treats Chelsea to dinner at Chez Rouge, courting her with wine-tasting. Jealous has them thrown out because she's drinking underage, but that only drives her deeper in his sly boss's arms, barking his best trump is not being (like) Nick. In fact the refugees have washed on an island, only Claire has a cut. As instructed by E.J. under tarot card-spell, Steve sneaks into the hospital to wheel out comatose John.
- Lucas tells sympathetic Kate over dinner how Victor fired him, so he wants a new job. He considers her suggestion to join Mystic, backtracks when senior partner E.J. arrives, but is persuaded when even Sami encourages him and gets apparently generous terms as sales manager, including E.J. moving out of his neighboring apartment. Phillip puts Wilow in her lowly place while chasing Nick and Chelsea all the way to the airport after a stop at Mickey's home. The object Nick took from their gets Philip arrested when it's found in his luggage, hidden by Nick while she distracted him. In Toronto, Shawn and Belle experience how hard hide-out life with a baby is, they even have a Canadian cop on their trail.
- Lucas applauds Kate's efforts to produce a TV-movie on Sami rescuing him during a first session, ignoring ma's real intend is to expose the shameless fraudster. Steve has another episode and physically attacks E.J. in public, blaming the DiMeras. Philip catches Belle at Merle's, but is duped out of recuperating Claire by a baby switch set up by Nick, who also sold his graduation gift watch to raise Shawn's bail and obtains it after legal advice from uncle Mikey. Philip catches Willow trying to rob him and kicks the scum onto the street, penniless and out for vengeance on him too. Unsuspecting Merle takes her in.
- E.J. visits Steve at the mental hospital. Max thanks Abby for all the extra help she has provided at the garage and then asks her out to eat. The two decide on the Penthouse Grill and Abby looks the number up in the phone book and circles it. At the Penthouse Grill, Max and Abby are just sitting down with Jed apologizes for his drunken behavior at the garage. Max invites Jed and Willow to have dinner with them but Jed picks up on Abby's hints and declines. Abby and Max discuss where this is a date or not and then Abby's Aunt Maggie walks in and Abby covers her face knowing that Maggie wouldn't approve of Max. Later, Abby makes a beeline for Jed asking him to join her and Max and he agrees. Maggie sees the three and assumes Abby and Jed are hitting it off. Chelsea can't stand being around her mother and Nick and packs her bag and takes off. Chelsea heads for the Penthouse Grill and Abby sees her walk in and excuses herself from the table to talk to her friend. They head to the bathroom where Chelsea attempts to fix herself up from all the crying she has done. Neither girl realizes Willow is in the room hiding in a bathroom stall. The girls leave after Abby convinces Chelsea to talk to her dad before running off. Willow comes out of the stall and sees that Chelsea left behind her hairbrush and swipes it. Elsewhere, Celeste is telling Sami that desperate measures are needed to protect her child if it is E.J.'s and that the best way is to kill E.J.
- Max is delighted when Kayla treats him to a grand dinner and easily persuaded to join her on a dangerous trip to Italy. The they hope to disclose what the DiMeras did to Steve, who remains uncooperative and makes a brutal orderly into his enemy by standing up for himself and a bullied fellow patient. On Tinda Lao, Shawn's rude removal of drunk regular Charlie is scolded by Gabby and Duck, who tell only now it's inhospitable sheriff Jim's nephew.
- E.J. and Philip celebrate over dinner their successful bugging operation and looking forward to overhearing Shawn's whereabouts, while constantly reminding the other of their mutual mistrust with cocky pride. Marlena still fails to persuade Steve to accept invasive therapy so he can testify against E.J., but passes on to him a phone-message about Kayla's non-fatal car crash, which she can stammer results from being blinded and pushed off-road, presumed to be a Dimera witness-elimination attempt. Steve fakes illness with soap in his armpit.
- Max discovers Stephanie's "bear alarm" was just a bunny's reflection. Some sassy talk and her assurance that Jeremy is put of the picture seduce Max to love-making. Alas, parental search-party Bo and Kayla catches them just about to get fully naked. After their frustrating near-success at the shelter, Philip and Belle must share a suite, the last available room, due to a convention. He treats her to a much-appreciated dinner there, and she assures him of all possible support. The fun is spoiled when Shawn arrives, unannounced, with Claire. Bell scolds his lack of trust, dragging the toddler around and most of all his latest unilateral surprise decision, to apply for the police academy. Roman admits Sami's fierce suspicion Stefano's murder is a fake and posts a police guard. In Lucas's absence, André slips in, dressed as hospital clown, to threaten her with a knife and escapes.
- E.J. waives warnings from the Brady clan about ruthless lives-wrecking gold-digger Nicole. After checking employer Mickey won't object taking her as a client so sue Victor for a lavish divorce settlement, he counters viciously vindictive objections from Sami, who publicly misbehaves as badly as Nicole, by arguing they can't afford to miss out on their only lucrative client opportunity so far. Philip is called away by Chloe, why faces Austrian officials trying to have her extradited. Max admits he has been drowning his mourning in work and agrees to spend a few days with Stephanie. John vaguely dismisses Paul Hollingworth's panic over their press-reported corruption charges.
- Philip's private detectives still made no progress in finding Brady. Nicole asks and gets to see him on the subject during a lavish dinner. E.J. is amused that his public display of family harmony in Chez Rouge for Immigration's benefit is interrupted by Nicole, who is clearly impressed and asks about the validity of her marriage to Victor. Nick promises Chelsea he'll make time again despite his demanding energy research and is assured she doesn't mind but supports and loves him still. John agrees to hypnosis from Marlena about his bran-washing, which fails, and holds her to the promise that ends her therapy.
- Max decides against making love with Stephanie, feeling the ultimate comforting while her parents are missing would be somewhat abusive. Philip is not amused that Victor has thrown out of the Kiriakis mansion both Chloe, whom he promises to get back in, and Nicole, who is legally entitled until a divorce. After Victor dismisses Nicole's threat she'll disclose his 'familys secret' unless he backs down, she confides into Chloe to believe he knew what happened to Brady all along. John toys with Marlena's feelings and suspicions while preparing a 'sexy dinner' with Nicole, but ends up telling off the gold-digger as a conspicuous Kiriakis spy, then announces he'll now bring his 'unworthy' adversary down.
- Elvis makes sure the interviews Immigration officer Leonard Burke holds in Roman's office go well, despite Sami's dangerously loud objections to Nicole voluntarily joining the witless list. Max sighs about his financial plight but turns down an offer from Philip to 'keep an eye' on John's ship freights. After Nick leaves frustrated, Max studies his left-behind research notes. Morgan haughtily flirts with Philip. Martino Vitali has a first meeting with Kate, who agrees to dinner, after leaving the hospital, where he seems surprised by the claim Dr. Neusbaum's medication caused Ava's anxiety and promises to bring her home, despite her arrest. Dr. Daniel Jonas drops by to tell Chelsea he's leaving Salem on surf holiday to Australia. She admits to Stefanie loving him despite Nick.
- Philip enjoys dining with Chloe and expect their relationship to blossom again, but Nicole's sneers and warning of Victor's jealous wrath on Brady's ex make Chloe retire anxiously. Enjoying Sami's barely still hidden jealousy and clumsy use of gay queen Chris as obvious spy, Elvis invites Nicole to the gym and in the sweet-room, with the desired result. While Angelo betrays to Ava that her father sent hit-man Arthur to eliminate patch 'for hers sake', the killer is arrested just in time, Martino is next. Dr. Daniel Jonas gets Marlena's advice in matters of the heart: daring to follow his own. Meanwhile Chelsea admits to Kate, who advises against rivaling with his late wife, she considers him lost even though she dumped Nick for him.
- Max gloomily started his community service loading charity goods in the docks, but exchanges comforting hugs with Stefanie. Philip toys with Chloe over dinner, claiming he trusts her, unlike Victor, but clearly investigating her role in Brady's disappearance. Dr. Daniel Jonas enjoys the Brady's growing confidence, says he doesn't plan to stay after Bo's treatment but flirts with Kate, who has her business back.
- Philip recruits Nicole to seduce John and spy on him in exchange for his support to get a generous settlement from Victor rather then an endless divorce trial. Paul Hollingsworth can't quite convince daughter Morgan his corruption charge troubles will work out. Dr. Daniel Jonas correctly suspects Chelsea didn't take it easy and hospitalizes her after a fit. Drama queen Ava insists Steve finishes her story about being left at the altar, but mellows after hearing he remembered being married to Kayla already and was kidnapped and brainwashed by Stefano's henchmen.
- Elvis needs to convince Imigration of his family life, so he and Sami plan to move in with Marlena, but she suggests all three of the should live in the Dimera mansion. There John coldly refuses to take any of them in, least of all the twins, preferring to pester 'butler' Rolf. Victor holds an exclusive luxury dinner for surgical hero Dr. Jonas and his patient recovering in the mansion, Chelsea, whom he keeps spoiling. Chloe however gets an icy treatment and protests theatrically, but Kate sooths. Then arrives self-invited Nicole, whom nobody welcomes.
- Max is miserable doing community service at the docks under a verbally abusive supervisor. Although Stefanie dropping by and agreeing they would prefer to be together permanently, cheers him up for a moment, he decides to convince her not to return there, as it reminds him of the Ford drama. Only Dr. Jonas, who didn't know Nicole until Kate explains and warns for the gold-digger, doesn't dislike her arrival. Victor can't throw her out, barely warn against having Henderson unpack for the lush, who starts boozing immediately and claims she can still exert spousal rights, despite her failed attempt to murder Victor.
- Triumphing provocatively, Philip show John a press article concerning Hollingworth being suspended due to charges of corruption, but is told the shipping war is just starting. Victor can barely be bothered and refuses to intervene when his unwanted guests Chloe and Nicole bicker over every futility. Steve 'Patch' and Hope 'Kayla' fail to reason with Ava as she gets migraine attacks.
- Elvis makes clear, being confident of Sami's feelings, after she suggests selecting play-school for the twins, that she can't keep denying her affection for him and acting jealous about Nicole, which works. To both's disappointment, Lucas isn't released early. Philip exchanges secrets with Victor about Brady and the encrypted disc, then is promoted to supervise all Titan divisions. As feared, Kayla's early childbirth is a miscarriage.
- Philip agonizes over the evidence destruction Kate executed for him thanks to Victor because it could wreck Bo's Career. While Max sneaks out of their train compartment to surprise Stephanie with breakfast, she hysterically chases a charming local who just sings the praise of (southern) France by waving mace. Morgan asks Philip along to hear the latest news in the precinct: her father's jacket and ID where found floating in the river. Daniels forbids visits to Victor due to measured cardiac stress risks.
- Philip can hardly appease Victor's mistrust about his inability to 'control' Paul Hollingworth, even less when father guesses Morgan got him to start an affair. Tony is puzzled when Anna first refuses to join his firm, then accepts, but learns her petty agency's owner Reginald Lumberg is shutting it down, yet decides against confronting his 'bride'. Dr. Daniel Jonas and Chelsea have a ball 'making up' right there for their dinner being short-cut when he's shortly called to hospital. John drives Marlena near despair by refusing to try the disc, distrusting it and stating he may not want to revert even if safely possible, and receives Ava again.
- Paul Hollingsworth has a grim phone conversation with Philip about his reward for planting the cocaine. John is released on bail and shocks Sami by announcing Marlena missed her chance, he needs advice to wine and dine another. max is far from impressed by haughty dean Trent Robbins's sneers that a barman isn't qualified to question his book on green energy technology. Chloe moves out of the Kiriakis mansion, wining as if Philip doesn't care enough to fight for her.
- Nick learns from dean Trent Robbins that Max considers his cold nuclear fusion theory bogus but can't get Max to explain how he, however smart, could now better then the physics professor. Philip gets an evasive answer to his dinner 'and more if you want' invitation to Morgan, who ignores paternal warnings not to consort with Kiriakis, and overrides with a kiss Chloe's jealous sneers. Roman soon realizes Sami is covering for Lucas, who managed to sneak out to the docks and from hiding calls Chloe, whom he saw there, and accepts her offer of an 'alliance'. Dr. Daniel Jonas still can't diagnose Kate but makes clear to both he refuses an affair with immature Chelsea. Ava enjoys dining with flirtatious John until he admits Marlena still wants him.
- After Max and dean Trent Robbins stop Nick from returning the research grant because Max corrected his calculations, Max finally confides into his mate being a self-instructed genius but stubbornly refuses to consider a college education, claiming he would feel like a freakish nerd. Philip is worried by a call from Paul Hollingsworth he 'fixed things', just before the warehouse containing the confiscated cocaine is reported burning. Philip meanwhile insists on dating his daughter Morgan and overcomes Chloe's jealousy, they'll dine first. Lucas sneaks back in and refuses to admit anything to Sami, pointing out the past proves he can't trust her not to use his secrets against him later. her rudeness prompts John to warn he's at the end of his patience with noisy in-living relatives.
- During another bitter confrontation with the dean, Max tells Stephanie that Trent Robbins actually is his worthless father, who indeed admits he knew the boy was being adopted by the Bradys and shrugs any paternal responsibility. Philip firmly waves Chloe's jealousy of Nicole. Paul Hollingsworth tells Morgan that he's fleeing Salem, feeling crushed between the waring tycoons. John convinces Marlena that his flirt was Ava was a meaningless attempt to make her jealous.
- After assuring Chloe there's no need to be jealous of Morgan, Philip finds solace in the gym with Daniel, who finds Kate reluctant even to let him diagnose her fit for release from hospital. Max repeats to Nick he won't consider college studies 'and turning into a bastard like dean Robbins', but gathers the courage to tell his adoptive mother. Trent meanwhile refuses to let Nicole off the hook, while pretending to her only a student know about his crook past.
- Taking Lucas's advice to give the annual 4th of July Horton-Brady barbecue a miss without explicit invitation, EJ tells skeptic Nicole he thinks Sami is jealous enough to assume she really loves him. Philip rebukes, yet forgives Chloe for her well-meant but probably counterproductive false testimony, while speculations abound about Paul's part and fate in the cocaine affair.
- Rafe pleasantly surprises Sami with his shaving cream-bearded Santa-impression and Herendez tamales recipe, but only the video contact with Elvis and the twins which Roman arranged really cheers her up. In true seasonal spirit, Stenfano braves Brady rudeness in the hospital, leaves at Lexie's request and still makes a generous donation. Max assures Christmas-nostalgic Mel he, as only family, won't drop her. Now Elvis is in a good mood, Nicole makes up, later calls the doc to say the bribe down-payment is all he can get except threats. Daniel joins Victor's party, where Philip controls his frustration over Brady.
- Elvis invited Nicole over for a romantic dinner, but John, having noticed she isn't drinking for once, gets her to admit she's expecting Elvis's child and he has to reschedule when called to hospital, ignoring Sami's pregnancy. Hearing Max feels guilty for Travis's murder, suspecting heartless Melanie, Caroline admits she repeatedly threatened Robbins to make him leave the pub and their lives, on the fatal night even waving a knife. Philip is not amused when Melanie comes looking for a Kiriakis to 'solve her problems'. Kate gives up her objections to Daniel assisting to her surgery.
- Rafe and Sami enjoy finishing their 'best ever first date' at home, until she freaks about Grace having another temperature, but Rafe proves himself a childcare miracle worker. At the docks, Victor promises Elvis to bring him to his father, but has goons manhandle him all the way to what seems a dungeon. Despite Stefanie's arrogant meddling attempt, Philip treats her to a surprise dinner, thanks to Owen, and the question. While bickering over a bribe from Nicole, Dr. baker makes a bad fall, survives but may have incurred amnesia.
- Elvis enjoys telling Sami to leave Johhny, for good, laughing away her claim the roles will be reversed and warning Nicole not to plead for a settlement in the boy's alleged interest. Kate's plan goes well, as Daniel feeds equally unwitting Chloe a poisoned appetizer. But when all three are gone, Lucas 'steals' and eats one too. Rafe promises Sami they'll win access to Johnny again, but she asks Philip and Stefanie to help 'eliminating' Elvis.
- Exercising to vent their romantic frustrations, Philip and Daniel meet and commiserate. Philip seems to enjoy a rather luxurious hospital-related business date. Nathan comforts obviously jealous Stephanie and finds Melanie surprisingly accommodating when he has to delay and interrupt their pub date, being on hospital call. Rafe gets the surprise visit from Roman he and Sami dreaded, but to their delight gets his blessing as best candidate ever to 'love Sami the way she needs'. Before Rafe can tell Sami at a picnic, she has met surviving sister Meredith Hudson at Emily's grave, but learned nothing more about her traumatizing death. Kate hastily completes her poisoning plan now Daniel is leaving Salem, but while leaving the hospital he bumps into Chloe, who admits being unable to forget him and announces she's leaving Lucas for him.
- Suspicious of Nicole's secrecy and having overheard she's meeting Brady again, Elvis has them spied on by a trusted henchman, who overhears Brady grudgingly t play along to cover up by pretending he had a drinking relapse, for Sydney's sake. Elvis starts piecing together Nicole's many lies and secrets about their baby. Nathan and Melanie are reinstated in hospital, so he wants to celebrate by taking her out to dinner. Neither is amused when Maggie claims they'll only get hurt both as long as Philip is in the picture.
- Elvis gets Nicole to admit that Sydney isn't their biological child, she only fake pregnancy and never told him about her miscarriage, so she's worse then Sami. Lawrence Alamain is stabbed, apparently fatally, at home by crazy wife Carly. Stefano moderately enjoys an excessively lavish dinner with Kate, whose maternal side kicks in given his diabetes, Philip avoids her. Sami can't find an honest job and turns down Maggie's 'charity' idea of working under Arianna. Daniels is sad that Chloe still feels guilty even now Lucas consents to an annulment.
- Elvis can't accept Nicole's shocking betrayal, even refuses to keep Sydney, so she ends up stating he is her biological father. Daniel takes charge when diabetic Stefano collapses during a dinner with Kate, who couldn't refrain his heavy menu taste. Will wonders if he should forget about Mia now she's with Chad. Having knife-murdered husband Lawrence and stolen an envelope from his desk, Carly Alamain takes a flight to Salem, turbulence prevents phoning Bo.
- Victor hosts a fund-raiser for the governor but warns Vivian not to attend, which she ignores in a cheerful mood over Carly's presumed conviction, until Kate enjoys shattering that illusion. Nicole's bluff-blackmail, despite utter lack of proof, scares Anna into promising she'l attend and try to get her ex, the governor, to grant a pardon within 24 hours. Just after the trial, Melanie warns Carly she still hates her and wants no contact. Philip delights her by arranging they'll move in with Maggie, who needs discrete help due to her condition which otherwise only Daniel may know about.
- Chad is furious when he receives his birth certificate stating Stefano as his father, and tells startled, yet supportive Will it must be forged, being a year off his birth date. Brady initially refuses the jewel box Arianna left to him, but after Elvis steps up and Sami fights for it, he's forced to take it home. It seems to contain only papers and a strong box key, but stooping the content, Nicole discovers a camera, containing Sami's murder confession. The witness proves a dead end when questioned by Roman, Rafe and Elvis. Gus helps Vivien lock Maggie into the tomb and rewire the remote controls, to prevent Victor from finding out while they celebrate her liberty and plan her revenge on Victor too. Melanie gives Chloe an ultimatum to tell Daniel the truth or she will, so Chloe follows to lock her down in the private Horton island cabin.
- Melanie tells Philip she wants to get back together. Chad applies for another job at Chez Rouge. Rafe makes it back to his apartment to see impostor Rafe and Sami making out. Gabi and Will go on a Valentine's Day date.
- Carly tells Sami that something isn't adding up with Rafe. Stefano demands that impostor Rafe take any additional tests that Sami and Carly want since he overheard the two voicing their concerns. Melanie and Dario argue about Arianna. Chad discovers his overdue bill at Salem University has been paid. Chad realizes it was Stefano who paid it and asks him about any strings that are attached to it. Chloe tells Justin that she doesn't want any of Daniel's money. Maggie asks Victor to lunch.
