Meanwhile, Grissom, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate the death of a man found dead in a hotel bathroom. In the autopsy, Dr. Robins finds a round tile with the letter in his throat, and five more tiles in his stomach. Brass identifies the victim and Adam Brenner from Florida that was in Las Vegas to participate in a logo game tournament. Soon Grissom learns that Adam was a top player and Grissom looks for opponents defeated by Adams that might be angry.

Soon the CSI team comes to the casino to investigate the murder of the man, Tony Sciarra, who was brutally beaten. When they identify the killer, Walter Darian, they arrest him; however, the guy attacks Grissom first in the interrogation room and then the guards that try to subdue him. Out of the blue, Walter is dead. Now, they investigate his belongings since he was an accumulator and find evidence that may lead them to another murder case.
- Catherine, Warrick and Nick investigate a shotgun killing in the desert. What they come across however is a beaver dam full of money. When they subsequently learn that the victim worked at setting the spread for sports betting, they think he may have a betting scam of some sort. Grissom, Sara and Greg investigate a death in a hotel where someone is found suffocated in his bed. He was staying in a hotel hosting a convention for overweight people and was quite popular with the ladies.

He was considered a bothersome beggar, especially by a bouncer.
- A body is found in the body farm. He died from what looks like a bullet wound, yet Dr. Robbins and Grissom can't find any bullet fragments. Instead, they found bits of ground beef inside the wound track. The team links this death to an arson case. The investigation takes a turn when the 12-year-old daughter of the deceased's fiancée has been a victim of sexual assault for some time. Back at the lab, Sara asks for a 6-month leave, citing that she doesn't feel at ease at work with her co-workers, especially with her boss, Grissom.
- Tony Braun, the son of Las Vegas mogul Sam Braun, is found dead in his home, apparently victim of a drug overdose. But as the scene lacks all evidence normally connected to an overdose, the team soon suspects murder.
- When the nurse Debbie Marlin is found murdered in her bathroom, the CSI team investigates the case. They learn that Debbie was a promiscuous woman that used to date doctor. Her last boyfriend Dr. Michael Clark is missing and becomes the prime suspect of murdering her. However, their further investigation finds pieces of his body in plastic bags in several trash bins in an alley. Dr. Robbins concludes that the cuts have been made by a surgeon using probably a scalpel.

- While driving her convertible at high-speed in the highway, a woman is stopped by a patrolman. Catherine and Grissom arrive later to the highway where the woman was found with slit throat and slashed genitals in her car. They also find a camcorder with no tape on the floor. The entire team investigate the case and Warrick and Sara find documents in the car, showing that the victim is Wendy Garner and the car's registration and the driver's license in the name of Walter Clancy. When Dr. Robbins finds a prostate in the victim, the team learns that she was a transsexual, and soon concludes that Wendy and Walter were the same person. When Grissom and Brass investigate Wendy's fiancé Aaron Laner, they learn that he does not know that Wendy was a transsexual. The team also interview her fellow dancers and learn that Dr. Mercer is the responsible for most of the transsexuals' operation. However, the doctor tells Catherine and Warrick that he refused to operate Wendy since she wanted to jump steps of the procedure required by the law. Now they are looking for the surgeon that might have operated Wendy.
- The detectives hunt for clues relating to a missing college freshman. Their hope of finding her alive diminishes as all of their leads on her turn cold.

- Teenager Brian Haddick is found on a construction site, skull fatally smashed, with an employee's hammer. Grissom's team checks on the construction crew as well as Brian's school crowd, stumbling on abused love and dirty practices. Another victim was killed by a bullet which literally fell from the sky.
- When the inmate Robbie Garson is found dead inside his room, Grissom, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate the murder. They learn that the inmates are criminally insane and rapists, and they get their DNA. When Sara finds semen on his bed, Dr. Valerie Dino tells Sara that Robbie had been chemically castrated and could not ejaculate. In the autopsy, Dr. Robbins finds that Robbie had various thing in his stomach and the cause of death was asphyxiation and his head trauma happened a couple of hours later. Sara and Grissom finds that the pharmacist Leon Cadera was stealing expensive drugs and giving simple medication to the inmates. When they identity the recovered semen belonging to Adam Trent, they change the line of their investigation.
- When the flight attendant Martha Krell is found dead and raped in her hotel room, Grissom, Greg, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate the case. They note that there is no luggage in the room that was cleaned and sanitized without any evidence. Ecklie tells Sara that he had a similar case five years ago, with the flight attendant Sue Stein. Sara notes that the present technology is able to retrieve the fingerprint from the previous case. Meanwhile, Catherine, Nick, Warrick and Det. Chris Cavaliere investigate the case of the death of the twelve-year-old Ty Hawkins, who has been beaten to death on his bed while sleeping. His fourteen-year-old brother Matt becomes the prime suspect to Det. Cavaliere and when Matt confesses the murder of his brother, Nick questions the way Det. Cavaliere conducted the interrogation. The CSI team proceeds the investigation and finds two other suspects: Ty's father Martin and the homeless Walter. Who might be the murderer?

Luckily Lieutenant Horatio Caine of the Miami CSI team takes brilliant charge, realizing it's the MO of a Florida serial killer of socialite couples, who spared the girl but eliminated all other witnesses and clearly isn't done yet, even sets a trap for the police.
- Dr. Robbins concludes that a woman covered with red blotches has not died of Ebola. In the autopsy, he learns that the woman is Julie Stern, who was recovering in the hotel from a cosmetic procedure. He also tells to Catherine that she had urine in her stomach and signs of heavy metal poisoning. Catherine and Nick interview her doctor, Tony Malaga, who owns an expensive clinic. When Dr. Robbins finds the same symptoms in the autopsy of Renita Loakes, they return to the clinic with a warrant to get their medical information. Meanwhile, Grissom, Sara, Greg and Capt. Brass investigate the death of Elliot Beckman, whose house was fumigated and his body was found inside. The exterminators tell them that the house was supposed to be empty when they released the gas.

- During the police marathon in Las Vegas, Grissom sees a runner outside the road and drives his car to the place, leaving Catherine alone. He finds a police officer dead. Dr. Robbins find that the victim was in excellent shape, but he had ingested two substances that combined killed him. Meanwhile, Sara, Warrick and Det. Louis Vartann investigate the murder of officers Manny Senteno and Patricia Fielding in a hotel room. Warrick's first impression is that might be a murder-suicide case. Soon they find fingerprints of the police officer Lydia Lopez and learn that she was lodged in the next-door room. When they look inside the room, it is completely trashed. Lydia says that she had sex with a Manny once a year during the marathon and she believes that her husband Archie Lopez might have followed her and trashed her room, but would never kill Manny and Patricia.
- A man is found in a dumpster with a very full stomach. A divorcing couple are found dead together on the floor of their house, where their dog becomes the first suspect.
- When a corpse is found in a storm drain gate, Grissom, Warrick and Catherine investigate the case. Warrick and Catherine follow the storm drain and find that the victim is the lifeguard Calvin Berkowitz and they believe he died "surfing" during the rainstorm. When they leave the place, a sewage worker shows some bones they have found while working. Soon they learn that other bones were found in the sewage drain and try to find the point of origin, while they also research the missing persons database. Capt. Brass talks to a resident of the neighborhood and he complains of a bully teenager, Owen Durbin. Soon his family becomes the prime suspect of the case.
- Although living in a well-protected gated community, the couple Mike and Laurel Trent are executed in front of their house by two masked killers. They were owners of the famous Acid Drop club among other properties. Grissom notes that Laurel was dragged out of the car, but Mike was dragged down the driveway in a place where everyone could see him. The whole team is assigned to investigate the case since the real state is large. Soon they find that the jewels have been robbed and Laurel had made porn films in the past with the production of Drake the Snake. Catherine goes to the Acid Drop and interviews the manager Chris Bezich first and Drake, who is bartender, later. Their further investigation shows that Mike's former partner Kyle Goode is suing him in the justice. When Grissom is summed to a murder case in an apartment, he finds evidences that will help him to resolve the case.

Nick and Catherine, meanwhile, work on the case of a young man found shot in the head inside his car.

Catherine's mentor Jimmy Tadero falsifies evidence concerning the case of violent repeat-offender Dwight Kelso, who maintains his innocence on his deathbed.

The horse is in quarantine and the veterinarian Dr. Stevens help Catherine to collect material from the animal. They interview the owner of the jet, guests and crew and find two tranquilizers dart in the cargo bay. When the horse mysterious die, Dr. Robbins make the autopsy and they learn what happened in the flight. Meanwhile, Sara, Warrick and Det. Lockwood investigate the suicide of a teenager in the middle of the desert. When they find a second body dead in the same circumstances, they believe it was a kind of "Romeu and Juliet" pact of the younger. Then they identify the couple, Toby Wellstone and Jill Frommer, and interview her mother trying to understand why they died in a distant place and separated from each other.
- While in a dinner party to celebrate the retirement of Director of Robert Cavallo and the promotion of Conrad Ecklie, Grissom is summoned by Capt. Brass to investigation a homicide in the Olympia Hotel. He stumbles upon Ecklie's right hand Sofia Curtis in the elevator and they go with Brass to the suite where they see the body of the teenage Nicole Jensen next to vomit. Soon they learn that the suite was reserved by the hotel's owner Charlie Macklin for his daughter Janelle. The McKinley High School is giving a homecoming party in the ballroom, but Janelle is giving a private party in the suite. Catherine, Nick and Warrick join the investigation and interview the guests. They note that Janelle is missing and they learn that two masked kidnappers have abducted Janelle. When Catherien and Sheriff Atwater interview Charlie, he tells them that he knows his daughter and that was a prank to get his attention. The CSI team proceeds the investigation and find the truth of what happened during the night.

- A kidnapping case becomes unusually personal to the usually detached Grissom. The 4-month old baby, Zach Anderson, was allegedly kidnapped from his home. A ransom note, found by his mother, is left in his crib. Many things seem strange about this case as more evidence are analyzed. When Zach's body is found on a nearby golf course, the team is sure that his death is no mere accident.
- A man who works at a half-way house is found dead in an area filled with drug addicts and prostitutes at night. His belongings were stolen, from car to shoes. Another body is found wearing only his boxers, with signs of a clown's make-up.
- When a group of bird watchers sees a raven with an eyeball in its nest, the CSI team investigate the case. They trace a radius from the nest and using the evidences, they find the location where the corpse may have been dumped. Catherine, Sara, Nick and Capt. Brass find the body and they identify the body. The prime suspect is the ex-husband of the victim. Meanwhile, Grissom, Warrick and Dr. Robbins find that the car seller Fred Stearns is not dead but dies later. They suspect that one of his colleagues may have killed him.

Grissom and Catherine arrive to investigate the crime scene and gunshots start. Grissom finds that the bullets are in the trunk in bag. Nick and Capt. Brass help the investigation. Soon they learn that the driver is Air Marshall Adam Watson, and the car was rented in an agency. Nick puts together the pieces of the bomb, which was a pipe bomb connected to the car clock. Soon they conclude that the victim might have been the previous user of the rented car since the timer was not accurate. Meanwhile, Sara, Warrick and Det. Louis Vartann investigate the death of Amelia Reuben, who is the wife of the successful singer Myles Reuben. They conclude that Myles, his manager Sam Hopkins and a hotel waiter were the last persons to see Amelia alive, and the autopsy and Greg's investigation concluded that she was poisoned.
- Nick arrives at the house of Jude McBride and the sheriff explains to him that they received an anonymous call reporting a possible crime. There is blood everywhere inside the house including three large pools. Nick learns that the Jude, Nina, Jeremy and Cassie McBride are a happy family and they are missing. Sara arrives in the house and tells to Nick that Grissom is at a conference. Then Warrick and Greg also arrive to help the investigation. Soon Sara finds a marijuana farm in the basement of the house. They also find that the anonymous phone call had called several times the family phone and they locate the caller, the local Dr. Malcolm Parker. When the laboratory discovers the identity of one fingerprint, the case begins to be resolved.
- When April Perez reports that her thirteen-year-old Alicia Perez has been kidnapped by an Afro-American man driving an old Buick, the CSI team investigate the scene and an Amber Alert is issued. Capt. Brass interviews the parents Sybil and Carlos and he learns that April had drug problem. Meanwhile, Grissom and Sara look through Alicia's room and Sara learns from Alicia's brother Daniel that his sister was in love with her schoolmate Jimmy Jones. When they meet Jimmy, the boy tells them that Alicia was upset since she would have to donate her kidney to Daniel and she liked to play soccer. When they find the body of Alicia dumped on the road, they make news discoveries about the case.
- A body falls out of the sky, literally. The cause of death is suffocation but the body bears no signs of strangulation.
