Helping Rogers, an experienced explorer and Indian fighter, were Hunk Marriner, another experienced Indian fighter, and Langdon Towne, a Harvard graduate who was the map maker. The episodes told the story of their trials and tribulations searching for the Northwest Passage and their battles with both the French and Indians during this war.

- A loose adaptation of the novel "The Adventures of Hiram Holliday" (1939), lacking the political themes of the novel. Hiram Holliday is initially depicted in the series as a newspaper proofreader. His minor correction of a news story unwittingly protected the newspaper publisher from paying a fortune in reparations, so the grateful publisher agrees to finance Hiram's trip around the world. Hiram had spend years practicing physical combat, shooting, rock climbing, scuba diving and other survival skills in his private time. He decides to put his skills in use as a crime-fighter and spy-catcher while visiting a series of exotic locations.
- From her hospital bed a woman recounts her life as a "plain Jane" while awaiting plastic surgeries for the injuries she has sustained in an automobile accident.

He offers a reward and hires a friend to search for her. Meanwhile, back the agency, Nash offers to pose as the missing girl, but she and Clarke quarrel and she walks out. Rather than leave her boss in a fix, Morrow admits she is the girl in the picture.

These bad guys have stopped the train and have it backed into lead into a long-since-abandoned dead-end tunnel. Nightclub singer Kay Stevens is one the passengers who requires rescuing by Tom.
- Traces, in an easy-to-follow way, the discovery of cosmic rays. You don't need rocket science to follow along with the explanations. Saw it while a Junior in HS and it spurred me to study physics in college. A rare example of good tv programming.

- In a film incorrectly reported as Bill Elliott's last starring western, "Bitter Creek" (released in March of 1954 carrying 16843 as the PCA number) falls a tab bit short of that as it was followed by "The Forty-Niners", (released two months later on May 9, 1954 with 16874 as the PCA number), but the correctly-reported absence of production values is duly noted. As Clay Tindall (Bill Elliott as Wild Bill Elliott), comes to a town in a search for the killer of his brother and quickly becomes unpopular with the townspeople who are unwillingly but submissive subjects to the whims of local cattleman Quentin Allen (Carleton Young) and his motley gang of hired hands and henchies. At the end, Elliott is given a typical line from his Columbia and Republic days that indicates that killing for revenge isn't admirable or the right thing to do, although he has just finished a rather thorough job of doing just that.
