- Using 40 cameras and 12 mobile vans, this live Sunday afternoon program broadcast events in North America, the Caribbean and Europe. The show alternated with other programs during its run. Among it's many segments were live broadcasts from Havana, Cuba, Bimini, London and the first live shots of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The show was first introduced on Monday, June 27, 1955 as part of "Producers' Showcase", and continued on Monday evenings thru the summer of 1955. Regular Sunday broadcasts did not begin until the fall of 1955.. On the Sunday, October 1955 premiere the topic was 'A Sunday in Autumn'.
- In the period 1930-40, the Depression had a major impact on the game of baseball. Many teams were nearing bankruptcy with attendance dwindling and fan interest at its lowest ebb. The owners introduced many innovations in an attempt to revive interest and attendance including the All Star game. Night games were introduced in 1935 and the Hall of Fame opened in Cooperstown in 1939 on the mythical 100th anniversary of creation of the game. The sport still provided its heroes however. Babe Ruth was larger than life and in 1930 signed an $80,000 a year contract; his teammate Lou Gehrig had become the best hitter in the AL. Barnstorming black teams played white teams regularly and had an entertaining pre-game warm-up routine dubbed shadow ball. The Negro leagues came into its own and drew huge crowds. It had its own stars such as Satchel Paige, one of the greatest pitchers in all of baseball, and catcher Josh Gibson it's greatest hitter. By the end of the decade, the Babe's career was over, Gehrig had retired due to ALS and professional baseball was still segregated.

David Niven will be the winner for his performance in "Separate Tables." Newman makes his appearance tonight on the eve of his 34th birthday.

Again, the panel is unable to identify the young lady's occupation, and Miss Marezinska wins by default. This evening's celebrity mystery guests are Paul Newman and his wife, Oscar-winning actress, Joanne Woodward. Miss Francis identifies the couple very quickly. In conversation with John Daly, Mr. Newman reveals his appearance on Broadway in Tennessee Williams's hit play, "Sweet Bird of Youth." Miss Woodward, when asked, says her latest film, "The Fugitive Kind," will be released in January. Mention is made of the Newmans's baby girl, who is doing just fine. As ever, Mr. Daly bids the panel good night and invites viewers to tune in next week.
