- Dead End Run is de eerste film van Ishii sinds het overweldigende Electric Dragon 80.000 V (vertoond op het festival in 2001), waar sommige argelozen nog altijd met verbaasde oren aan kunnen terugdenken en anderen met een niet eenvoudig te plaatsen gevoel van euforie. Ishii gaat voort op de ingeslagen weg. Dead End Run bestaat eigenlijk uit drie korte films. In het eerste deel zien we een man (Iseya Yusuke, de regisseur van Kakuto) die achtervolgd wordt door een vrouwelijke robot met een voorliefde voor musical liedjes. In deel twee draait de achtervolging om Nagase Masatoshi (bekend als de toerist uit Clara Law's Autumn Moon, maar ook al te zien in Gojoe en Electric Dragon), die door een huurmoordenaar in dezelfde doodlopende steeg gedreven wordt (vandaar de overkoepelende titel). In deel drie wordt Asano Tadanobu achtervolgd door de politie: hij eindigt op een dak waar hij een meisje in gijzeling neemt dat daar was beland om zelfmoord te plegen. Ishii's films combineren de ademloosheid van commercials en actiefilms met de compromisloze sensibiliteit van de experimentele film. Het zijn fysieke ervaringen, mede door de soundtrack, die nogal wat eisen stelt aan de technische uitrusting van de bioscoopzalen. Harde gitaren, maar ook extreem versterkte omgevings en bewegingsgeluiden, zorgen samen met technisch perfect uitgevoerde, trillende zooms en bliksemsnelle close ups voor een overdonderende ervaring.

- Ryo is given the job of selling a smoke carton full of ecstasy by a big yakuza boss. While at the bosses place he gets high on both acid and cocain. Later, while leaving, he accidently drops the carton. Later he meets up with two friends and realises he's lost the ecstasy. The three friends drive around for a while until Ryo remembers he must have dropped it just outside the bosses place, only thing is he cant remember where the apartment building was. They find the place eventually but just as he is going in the yakuza boss, who now suspects him of leaking info to the heat is just outside, along with a police officer who has been tailing the boss for a while. Ryo gets chased with a samurai sword by the boss, meanwhile the boss is being chased by the cops. The boss gets arrrested eventually and Ryo gets away. His trip turns very bad and he ends up running the streets naked in winter, crying and passing out. Eventualy he finds both his friends and the carton full of E, and all turns out well.

Thanks to a headache pill he has on him, he is hired as an onmyoji by the emperor's wife Nyogo Kokiden, a fearless woman and coldly analytical in her actions. She desires to have her son take the emperor's position.

She must write down her experience getting married and publish her experience in the magazine.
