- Set in Seattle, retired comedian Jake Hatton is happy living a quiet retirement. His nephew, Don, is a cop and has just gotten married to Jan. When his parents died, he became ward to his four brothers and sisters. Finding themselves up to their necks in raising the kids, Jake comes in to lend a hand and teach them valuable lessons.

- Ted Zakalokis' family has always assumed that he would one day work at the family bakery, but he doesn't see that happening. To avoid it, he enlists in the Army and when he gets out, he finds a temporary job working in the mailroom of a Hollywood talent agency under Richie Herby. Most of the mailroom workers hope that one of the agents will need a new secretary, thus paving the way for them to be agents themselves. One of these hopefuls is Laurie Parr, who shuts Teddy down when he hits on her. He also meets Abe Werkfinder, the head of the agency--and basically a nice guy; and Al Floss,, the quintessential agent: oily, sneaky, deceptive. One day a client arrives and instructs Richie to meet him because he doesn't want any of the other "mail room people" making a move on his client. Richie, not wanting to give him the satisfaction, sends Teddy instead. The man is arrogant and pompous and picks a fight with Teddy, and Teddy slugs him to his knees. Teddy's spunk impresses the man enough that he wants Teddy to be his agent. Al Floss isn't happy and tries to dissuade Teddy from accepting, but Abe Werkfinder feels that as long as the man wants to stay with his agency, he must do anything to make him happy, so he convinces Teddy to accept the high-paying job and instructs Al to train him. But Al is not exactly in his corner, so Teddy must rely on Richie and his secretary Laurie for help. And because his name is such a tongue twister, Mr. Werkfinder dubs him Teddy Z.

Still, the Bad Guys want to get revenge on the Krushers.

The men and women take strenuous photo shoots and workouts, but few will be chosen.

Robert Randall (the late Alzado) would balance day to day problems with his students and with his kids Ellen (Stoffman) and Mark (Bisson). - After the death of his brother Wago, Jian-wa Chang now roams America's countryside while looking for his place in the world. He is hit by a van of two college students. Jian is taken in and nursed by Megan, a secluded artist. Jian is also befriended by the ghost of brother Wago. Wago must act as an angel to Jian-wa to gain acceptaince into heaven. Meanwhile, the students from the hit and run plan to kill Jian-wa so he doesn't talk to the police. This third sequel to Vanishing Son also serves as a pilot for the TV series by featuring flashbacks from the first three films.

Back in LA, Jian-wa's brother Wago is wanted by the F.B.I. and manage to pull Jian-wa back to L.A. for questioning. They also want him to infiltrate his brother's gang in order to save his Wago. Can Jian-wa get Wago to see the truth about things before it's too late?
- Based on a true story of Hank Gathers, a basketball player from Loyola Marymount who collapsed and died during a game. Hank was a loudmouth Philly kid who was one of the best high school basketball players in the city. His rival comes in the form of Bo Kimble, a more serious athlete who doesn't care for Hank's reckless behavior. When the two players get recruited by USC, they eventually become friends. Hank and Bo are not really played much with the USC team, and head to Loyola Marymount, where the two became college sensations.

That is when he comes up with the idea to use it as a place for troubled teens. The teens would live on the ranch, do all sorts of chores, and learn the value of honesty and friendship.

Jian-wa travels to the south and finds that hatred comes in all forms as a group of racist whites feud with harmless vietnamesse fishermen. Jian-wa decides to side with the vietnamesse and help them defend themselves. Back in Los Angeles, Wago is enjoying his new life as a gangster.
