- A bad storm blows into the Dallas area, along with a couple of strangers from Waco who look to get even with JR and Ray, who seemingly took advantage of their own women the previous night. With the hands off for the day to attend a festival in San Antonio, the ranch looks even more deserted when the only ones packing guns and giving orders on Southfork are the strangers.
- Cooper is on the trail of someone he feels is cheating while playing the horses. Danny gets convinced by Mike that he needs to do a "dry run" for the hospital. Meanwhile, Mike and Piper feel their first time was a "little dry," and end up avoiding each other all day long.
- Coach Taylor deals with outside influences on who to start at quarterback, with the biggest game of the year coming up against their rivals, who have taken it upon themselves to raise the bar by trashing the Panthers' locker room. Jason is moved to a rehab unit, still not accepting his situation, as his replacement and Matt, deals with competition when a new quarterback is brought in from Louisiana as a refugee from Hurricane Katrina.
- Matt doesn't want to break his bond with his grandmother's nurse, who's moving back to her native country. Smash and Noelle are pressured by their parents to break the bond they have between them. Tami doesn't want to break the bond with her infant daughter by leaving her at daycare. And as Santiago's former friends show up at his house to retrieve their bond, Buddy feels the bond with his material possessions, while his daughter, Lyla, takes a job at a Christian radio station.
- FBI's LA office has a head start on investigating the flashforward with Mark's vision and by opening a web site. At least one man didn't black out. Mark's wife meets the man from her vision. A clue brings Mark to Utah.
- When all the interns are informed they are expected to attend a fashionable work function, Addy balks at attending & Beth refuses to ask her significant other to attend with her. Clients in the firm include a high school student accused of taking a risqué photograph of his girlfriend and an athletic bicyclist who got run down by a bus.

Addison wants her patient to choose another doctor...another one her patient's husband is not fawning over.

Lyla informs her father of her alternate decision after her chances of attending her dream college have fallen through, Landry tries to help Tyra with her college essay, and Matt has dreams of attaining some kind of post-high school education.
- Sam helps resolve a hostage situation at the psychiatric ward of a hospital, and the kidnapper's deadline turns out to be the exact same time that the plug is going to be pulled on Sam in 2008.
- Alan must defend Jerry Espenson again, this time for committing perjury to get on a jury. Meanwhile, Denise learns that her fiancé, Daniel Post, has died, but the doctors are having trouble locating his remains.
- Ray has fallen for Garnet McGee, the hottest new country singer in town, but she is ambitious and her career comes first, so she turns her affections to rich J.R. who gladly offers to finance her music. Ray becomes dangerously jealous.
- Van, uncharacteristically, takes his job to heart and puts up a home office in the garage, and puts his nose to the grindstone, insisting that his partner, Reba, do the same. Kyra has misgivings about moving out of Reba's house and finds herself wanting to return.

- Skipping ahead five months in time, Dillon High School finds its graduating class with: Lyla, who's father has come up with a plan for her to still possibly attend Vanderbilt; Matt, who plans to attend a school in Chicago away from Julie; Tim, whose brother tries to get a mechanic's garage going while planning to attend college himself; and Tyra, who's application is still up in the air in wanting to attend TU. Meanwhile, the issue over splitting Dillon High School seems small, compared to the fact that outside influences such as money and a control for power continue to affect Coach Taylor, even while his contract comes up for negotiations.
- Addy and Beth are assigned to defend a sexual harassment case in which the accused displays behaviors not quite contrary to the charges. Malcolm is stuck when his son is expelled from school for bringing a weapon on school grounds. Liam continues his pursuit of Beth and asks for help while Cliff pursues his wife and tries to get her to reconsider her decision in expelling him for their home for his infidelity.
- Aboard a shuttlecraft and en route back to the Enterprise, Picard, LaForge, Data, and Troi find themselves trapped in a time trap of some sort, where the Enterprise is being taken over by Romulans, and the ship, itself, on a course of destruction.
- Everyone reminisces about the past. Meanwhile, Izzie is emotionally devastated, with the others trying to help her, Adele gives Richard an ultimatum, and George and Derek are put in quarantine when an outbreak of the plague is suspected.

Meanwhile, JR rubs Cliffs nose in the fact that he's re-marrying Sue Ellen by inviting him to the wedding. Other guests include Clayton Farlow, who tries to help console Miss Ellie over the fight between JR and Bobby. In an effort to fight JR's variance, the state of Texas is willing to create a different oil commission, but only if Donna will serve on the committee.
- Violet's emotional reaction to her attack has all her friends on standby alert, afraid she'll freak out. Addison makes no effort to ease tensions between her and Naomi, while the practice tries to deal with a woman they feel is covering up something when her husband shows up at the hospital with a stab wound.
- Ed turns Samantha onto a guy who can help out her own paycheck by trying to retrieve some of the money that her high roller clients have skipped out on paying. Danny and Delinda discuss wanting to take their relationship to the next level. Mary decides to try her hand at stand-up comedy, and Ed tries to give someone a special birthday present.
