- The film is set in a terrorizing world of the future, where technology commands the movements of individuals, supervised by the doctors, carrying out a program to improve the human race. Thus, instead of doctors creating a monster, the monsters are already there as the species of the future - but one of them is suspected by the doctors of being a human being. That is Golem in reverse.
- A young man is facing death of his mother. A petty corruption at his job leads to him being framed and robbed of his only desire to climb mountains in Himalayas, as his father did and where he died.

He also tries to revive an old love affair using the violinist as a surrogate of her mother. Her husband is resentful of the conductor for personal and professional reasons.

- Clandestine Olympics are to be held in a German POW camp during World War II which houses many Poles, but also French and British. A spit and polish German lieutenant is added to the staff of the camp. He recognizes one of the Poles, the acknowledged leader of the Polish prisoners, as an athlete against whom he had competed during the Berlin Olympics in 1936. He asks the Pole to train with him but is refused; the Pole points out that he is a prisoner and nothing more, but that plants a seed and the Pole proposes an Olympics 40 to be held among the prisoners. They ingeniously make a flag and medals, set up a number of races; a crouching hop race is unwittingly organized by a German prison guard who uses it as a form of torture. The German lieutenant knows that something is going on but cannot figure it out. Finally the Germans realize what's going on and the Polish leader is sent to a concentration camp, but the others disobey the orders.
- Takes place on an ocean liner from Canada to Poland. It is a story of several people with pasts and problems stemming from uncomfortable confrontations. The main confrontation is between a Polish doctor with a heart condition meeting a man he knew before. Neither of them was willing to admit their differences from the college days. The meeting torments the doctor enough to start him drinking and dying of a heart attack.
- Detective thriller about a killer loose in the crowds. The film follows a sniper on his rounds looking for victims, while a police inspector, with few clues in his hand, has to figure out the motif for killings as well as who the psychopath is and where he might strike next. He uncovers that the mentally deranaged sniper can't stand seeing people happy together in public places.
- At the end of World War II, Soviet tankers are rescued by Polish villagers who hide them in a German-controlled area.
- Set in 1939 tells a story of friendship among three 10-year olds, living in town of Sosnowiec: a Polish and Jewish boys and a German girl. The Jewish boy's parents are killed and he is wounded and left for dead, but saved by the other two. Polish boy sees his baby brother taken from his mother to be raised by an Aryan family, after Polish resistance members are found in his home and then shot in the street. The German girl leaves with her parents to live in Germany, after resisiting family pressure to associate only with German-bred companions.
- The crusty hero, Habryka, is an old miner who has won many worker medals and is now retired with his youngest son and latter's family living with him. To build new apartment buildings, the old houses are being bought out, the residents given apartments in the new houses, and being cleared away. But Habryka refuses to sell. He thinks his house has too much history, and he will not leave even if the new place have more modern facilities. Everybody tries to convince him. His son's wife leaves, he is threatened but to no avail. Finally he gives in when the irate head of the mine gives him a new model house. Unfortunately the house is in a remote location and many gadgets confuse the wife. They are lonely. He dies in his sleep, and later gets a giant funeral as a homage to one of the oldest miners in the district.
