- Ginger enters a creative writing contest and Ms. Zorski is concerned over the dark subject matter that Ginger has written about. The emotions are very deep, troubling and sad and cause her to recommend Ginger to the school psychologist Dr. Leventhal. Ginger doesn't think this is necessary as it is just a work of fiction and not a reflection of herself. Carl and Hoodsey use vanishing powder on Noelle Sussman and Carl is horrified when it appears to work.
- Darren finally decides to tell Ginger the truth, and he breaks up with her. She returns home where her friends try to comfort her, until she eventually cries herself to sleep. When her Mom comes to check on her she discovers Ginger has acute Appendicitis and she is rushed to the hospital, where Dr. Dave saves her life by performing an emergency Appendectomy. As she is recovering, many of her friends and family come to visit, including her father, Jonas. Carl becomes worried that their father's appearance will rekindle Lois's feelings for him and ruin her relationship with Dr. Dave. Meanwhile, Ginger reflects on her relationship with Darren and Orion comes to reveal his true feelings for her.
- During a summer heat wave Ginger goes to Camp Caprice working as a Cabin Leader. While there she deals with her conflicting feelings regarding Darren and Sasha. Carl wheels and deals to get an AC for his clubhouse.
- When Ginger receives a belated graduation card from her father, she calls his answering machine and invites him to hear her poem. She hopes for a family reunion and writes a touching poem about her father being a stranger to her.
- With Lois's wedding to Dr. Dave nearing, Mrs. Dave and a 'network of silver-haired villains' set out to sabotage the festivities.
- The girls are doing their community service at Golden Gates Convalescent Home for stealing the sign at the bank. Ginger brings Carl along who develops a friendship with Maude, a mischievous prankster who lives there. Hoodsey is jealous of Maude and Carl's relationship. Courtney invites herself over to Ginger's house for dinner and Ginger accepts. She is nervous and everything has to be perfect...it could but Carl has also invited Maude over for dinner.
- It's time for the annual Lucky Junior High talent show and Dodie really wants she, Ginger, and Macie to win. They decide to stick with tradition and do their Little Seal Girl act but it's not long before word gets out and the other kids start making fun of it. Ginger and Dodie think it may be too juvenile to perform and want to change acts but Macie will not hear of it. Carl is fascinated by the mummified hand Mrs. Gordon brings to class.
- Ginger is the only one that is nervous about moving on to high school while all her friends are embracing the change and deciding what their new activities will be once they make the big switch.
- When Courtney overhears Ginger making sleepover plans with Macie and Dodie, she enlists Miranda's help in hosting this novel idea herself.
- Unbeknownst to Lois, Ginger invites Jonas to Thanksgiving dinner. Tensions mount when Carl seems to favor Dr. Dave over his natural father, and the assembled guests, including Mrs. Dave and the Bishop family are somewhat less than amicable.

When Ginger decides Laetitia should throw a party to introduce herself properly she finds it difficult to interest anyone in attending. Carl and Hoodsey suffer through Brandon's birthday party.
- Ginger helps wallflower student Hope Rogers improve her status by patterning her after Courtney, and her popularity skyrockets.
- The Annual Lucky Junior High Ski Trip is coming up and Ginger is avoiding getting her mother's permission to attend. Pressured by Dodie, Ginger agrees to go...despite the fact that she can't ski. Soon she has something else to be nervous about because Courtney and Miranda have a bet going that Ginger and the exchange student Jean Pierre will get to first base on the chair lift. Carl and Hoodsey want to set a world record by being stranded on the chair lift for over sixteen hours.
- Mr. Cilia, the chemistry teacher, pairs off students for lab work in his classroom. Courtney and Dodie, Miranda and Macie and Ginger with soccer jock Ian Richton. Ian starts paying attention to Ginger and she starts to fall for him but Darren overhears Ian bragging to his buddy about using Ginger to do all the work and getting an easy A. Carl, Hoodsey and Brandon compete for the privilege of playing a glockenspiel solo for Ludlow Krantz...a former student at Lucky Jr. whom Carl and Hoodsey idolize.
- A substitute teacher terrorizes Ginger's class while Ms. Zorski is out sick. Miranda plots revenge using toilet paper and eggs while Ginger is opposed. Carl and Hoodsey attempt to train Brandon's monkey for a talent show for part of the prize money.
- Ginger shocks friends and family by accepting a semester-long scholarship to an arts academy in the mountains. While Ginger makes new friends and enjoys the "being away from home" experience, Dodie, Macie and Courtney bond over missing Ginger
- Ginger returns to school from the Fine Arts Academy but now she and Darren are inseparable. This angers Dodie who misses her best friend and she and Macie fall easy prey for Miranda and Mipsy's scheme to break them up. Noelle loses Carl to Polly for the weekend and she makes Carl play 'Bird' with her.
- The date for school picture day has been changed and moved up two weeks. The girls are not happy and are tired of looking like dorky geeks and decide that makeup is the answer. The only problem is that Ginger's mom has forbidden makeup for Ginger until high school. The girls decide to create their own makeup and call it 'fakeup'...but no one's taught them how to apply it properly. Carl and Hoodsey go out early on 'Fat Friday' with Dwayne the trash collector and come up with the ultimate blackmail weapon to use against Blake.
- Ginger is elected to the Student Council on a platform of 'Persuasion not Punishment'...this is a new reform program to do away with the old school way of punishing kids. It gains popularity and even spreads to the elementary school where Carl, who explodes the school's plumbing system, becomes the first to try it. He is assigned a 'Big Brother' named George who makes Carl's life miserable. He even goes so far as to want to disassemble the Dog House, which he sees as the source of Carl's troubles.
- Carl, finding a toupee in the school hallway, fashions it into a mask which awakes the wolf within. He reinvents himself as "Wolf Boy" and Hoodsey organizes Wolf Boy showings in the backyard until Carl goes too far and attacks a teacher for his new wig.
- Longing to change her "nice girl" reputation, Ginger crashes a High School party. But when false rumors spread about her and a boy at the party, Ginger realizes it's better to be content with who she is.
- The time has come for Ginger's class to see the infamous Health Education film, and a squeamish Macie refuses to attend. Ginger and Dodie help her to change her mind and face her fears.
- Dodie, trying out for the Pep Squad, is doing anything and everything she can to convince the coach to let her on the team.
- When Dodie is chosen as the new school announcement person, she solemnly promises to uphold the dignity of the position but soon is delivering more gossip than needed information.
- Macie and Mipsy both turn 13 on the same day. Mipsy is having a huge blowout to celebrate and Macie's will be a quieter party. Unfortunately for Macie her parents seem to have forgotten her birthday entirely. Ginger intervenes on Macie's behalf and confronts her parents. Carl and Hoodsey must confront their fears regarding a Naked Mole Rat that escaped from the science lab.
- Dodie's mom takes a teaching job at the school and reinvents herself by trying to join the 'popular' crowd...while Dr. Dave attempts to muster up the courage to propose to Lois.
- A fierce snowstorm is raging with winds near 50 MPH and three feet of snow expected in the next 24 hours. School is closed and Dodie and Macie are stranded at Ginger's house. Ginger hears a distress call on Carl's walkie talkie from the Griplings. Their limo is stuck in a snow bank and soon Blake, Courtney and Winston have joined the stranded trio. That wouldn't be a problem except the power goes out and their is no food to eat. Carl and Hoodsey are dog sitting Muffin for Dr. Randall.
- Dodie is made an official member of the pep squad after she exaggerates a minor injury sustained in her role as mascot. Ginger sees through the ruse, though, and convinces Dodie to try to earn the position honorably.
- A senator's son is switching from private to a public school and may pick Lucky Junior High. Courtney immediately sets her sights on him but unfortunately has an allergic reaction to a mystery meat which swells her face and she picks Ginger to impersonate her while she's ill. Hoodsey falls on his head and develops amnesia...Carl tries to help him regain his memory.

- Miranda tries to convince Ginger that she and Darren should be more than just friends, thus clearing her way to Ian. Carl and Hoodsey strive to become world famous and need to borrow Blake's new telescope while he is recuperating in the hospital after a tonsillectomy.

With her dad out of the country and Blake spending so much of his time with Winston she feels sad and lonely. Ginger invites her to stay at her house and Courtney eagerly accepts. Ginger soon has second thoughts about this arrangement as Courtney and Ginger's mom have started bonding. Carl feels the need for a chin implant as he thinks the chin makes the man.
- When Carl and Hoodsey are unsuccessful in their attempts to unnerve Lois with their Halloween pranks, they summon Maude from the dead to scare Carl's mother.
- When Ginger learns that the marching band will be traveling to the school of her summer love, she takes up an instrument and joins.
- Ginger invites Darren to the BFF yearly tradition of going to the county fair, much to the dismay of Dodie, who in turn invites Courtney to annoy Ginger. Carl and Hoodsey tag along and end up freeing a "two headed" pony from the Nature's Oddities Tent.
- Looking for extra money during the nurses' strike, Lois decides to start a house-cleaning business. Ginger is mortified, but when she has to help clean to keep her allowance, she gains a newfound respect for her mom.
- Carl and Hoodsey scheme to steal a live pig's heart from the Junior High school in order to save the life of an ailing cow.
- Ginger realizes that she has a crush on her debate team teacher, and Dodie convinces her that the feelings are mutual. But when Ginger decides to take it to the next step, she may end up embarrassing herself.

- When the schools cuts the music program funding in order to finance new uniforms for the football team, Ginger plans a protest, only to be outdone by Carl and Hoodsey's hijacking of Courtney's private Port-o-Potty, and her humiliation during a game.

Once Darren starts dating Miranda he starts to realize what Ginger really meant to him. Carl and Hoodsey help Brandon find his missing monkey.
- Ginger is throwing a party for Darren that every kid in the school wants to attend. But when Lois and Joann Bishop get into a fight at the grocery store over the last Easter ham on the shelf, Joann bans Hoodsey and Dodie from seeing Carl and Ginger.
- Ginger sends a fake love letter to Dodie from oddball student Dustin as part of their long-standing April Fool's tradition. But when Dodie responds favorably, and Dustin admits a secret crush on Macie, it's Ginger who feels like the fool.
- When Courtney and Miranda have a falling out, Miranda takes Ginger as her new best friend. Ginger, Dodie, and Macie see it as an opportunity to call the shots, but soon find that it's the other way around.
- Ginger is worried about her mom's single status and has been listening to the advice of Dr. Fondfeelings on TV. She warns that being alone makes you miserable and you are alone because you are miserable. Actually though Lois has a new man in her life. His name is Buzz and he is a Jack-of-all-trades/handyman at the hospital. He is also loud, obnoxious, a slob and has three boys who are just like him. Ginger puts up with him for her mother's sake. Lois puts up with him for Ginger's. Carl has new products to market--fabric softener that doubles as after shave and drier sheets that double as hankies. He uses Buzz' Kids as test subjects.
