- The evil loan sharks smash Jim's hand with a base ball bat, and then disappear - never to be seen again. A Nazi skin head some how obtains a box of Nazi lime cool-aid from the 40's, and decides to inject it into his veins. Of course, the cool-aid IV turns him into a slime spitting Nazi zombie. Backstreet to the American Dream is a deep dive into the birthplace of the $2 billion dollar global industry, Los Angeles. The 90-minute feature profiles two trucks and juxtaposes the experiences of American entrepreneurs and Mexican immigrants. Indeed, these are very different operations in the same city: the gourmet burger truck, Grill 'Em All, is the first season winner of The Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network in 2010, and El Pescadito, a mariscos lonchera (seafood truck), that has been parking at the same swap meet in an immigrant neighborhood since 1982.
- Ceil and Enis are a happy if wacky female couple until giant baby son Junior (who sports a mustache but fits in his crib just dandy) develops a fondness for hot dogs and other symbols of manliness (along with many things edible, phallic or not) and decides to bust out of his confining crib to raid the fridge and avenge his overly protective mothers. A high camp low drag tongue in cheek lesbian chicken murder comedy which references everything from other campy classics (John Waters, Kenneth Anger) to the likes of Hitchcock and Sirk. Cheesy fun. (Note: this is put here so folks don't continue to review a DIFFERENT film called Junior by a fellow named Jim Henly--so hey! this is NOT the same Junior)

- A three-part series about the life story of Francis Scott Key is told through remembrances from his closest associates, as played by a group of gifted actors. Key wrote our national anthem but was also a constitutional lawyer and an ambitious political operative for President Andrew Jackson whose conflicted views on slavery reflects the antebellum societies attitudes that eventually lead to civil war. The series is a window into the antebellum mindset that in many ways continues to raise questions to this day. The film centers on interviews between the filmmaker and a series of 13 characters from history who discuss and explore the events of Francis Scot Key's lifetime in a collective conversation that's supplemented with interviews with academicians and experts on the historical period. Re-creations of some historical events add further depth to the film. Part One of F.S. Key After the Song is subtitled "The Era of Good Feelings." It starts a heartbeat after Jackson's battle of New Orleans and is a primer on early slavery. Part Two is titled "Might Versus Right." It centers on Key's change in character and his involvement in the Jackson Administration and his transformation into a political operative. Part Three is titled "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely." It shows how Key goes head-to-head with abolitionists' ideas -- and loses.
