- When an old man wearing a strange-looking belt is found dead of natural causes, fraud is suspected and the case is turned over to major frauds division. Investigation leads to a Dr. Gantman, whose useless treatment of a blind seven-year-old girl with a pituitary tumor is preventing its timely surgical removal. A break comes when a television repairman, who makes "electro-charged oscillator belts" for the doctor, is arrested for bookmaking and is willing to testify against him. The bookie isn't needed after a courtroom demonstration by the doctor, and participation by the prosecution, results in the doctor's undoing.
- For the sake of a determined young couple, Andy aims to end an 87-year-old bloodless feud betwixt their daddies.
- A new dating service wants to test out its questionnaire that is meant to find people with common interests and pursuits. They focus on Mayberry and soon Goober is filling out the questionnaire. Opie tries to tell him that he's not answering the questionnaire correctly - such as saying he read 30 books a month when in fact he reads that many comic books - but Goober perseveres. Soon, he's on a date with the highly educated designer of the questionnaire and it becomes painfully apparent that they have little in common. As things develop however, she soon finds there may be some advantage to the lifestyle and attraction of small-town living.
- That there may be a direct descendant of a Revolutionary War hero living in Mayberry flatters the town, 'til they learn who it is.
- To help out Jimmy McGill, a penniless young man swindled in a land deal, Daniel offers him a piece of land to be paid for over time. When Amos Brown's daughter Charity, betrothed to another, is attracted to Jimmy, Brown forbids her to see him and moves up her wedding to a local man. To claim Charity before she weds the other man, McGill decides to make a fortune overnight.
- It's Friday evening, Bill's wife is out of town and Joe has agreed to spend the weekend with him for some R & R, starting with a little pinochle with two neighbors. The next day the partners plan to "sleep in, watch the ball game on the tube, and have a dinner fit for kings. We're gonna live like sultans for two days, without harems, of course." What could go wrong with this plan?
- Eve shoots and kills one of the two men involved in a jewelry store robbery. Stunned when she finds out he was only seventeen years old and everyone that knew him says he was a fine young man, she questions her commitment to police work. After she tells Ironside she is quitting, he convinces her to finish the case and finds a way to help her regain her confidence.
- Boyington, just recovered from malaria, gets no volunteers for a dangerous mission after Doc Lindsay tells the Black Sheep to ground Pappy or he'll send him stateside. Pappy decides to fly the mission anyway, with four strangers. After bad weather keeps the replacements from flying in, the mission is scrubbed. To get back into Pappy's good graces, the Black Sheep decide to fly with Pappy, but the mission doesn't go as planned.
- Brought to their attention by a member of the Department of Animal Regulation, and with an okay from the Captain, Friday and Gannon investigate a rash of reports of lost dogs from a shopping center. Since only one lost dog had been previously reported from the same area, Friday and Gannon suspect criminal activity.
- Jonas has been captured in the Republic of Georgia and offers himself up as a bargaining chip for a prisoner exchange. When Colonel Ryan's efforts to gain cooperation from Washington fail, he sends the unit to make its own prisoner exchange. Meanwhile, Tiffy is facing a court trial she will surely lose. Charlotte still refuses to step up and tell the truth, but offers other help.
- Crotchety old businessman Ben Weaver wants moonshiner Sam Muggins locked up for Christmas but, after seeing the holiday spirit in Andy's jail, he tries to be arrested himself.
- On PM watch, Reed and Malloy assist Wells and Brady at a domestic dispute involving an armed husband. They investigate the report of a possible dead body, and later, the robbery of a pawn shop. At the gun range the next day, Reed and Malloy, along with Wells and Brady, among others, practice before their monthly qualification. Later, a cabbie tips them on what he thinks is a burglary in progress. They get a hit on prints taken at the pawn shop the night before and find the suspect working at a car wash. He tries for a clean getaway, but pulls a gun instead and is caught. After nightfall they back up Wells and Brady again, on a prowler call this time, where the homeowner takes a shot at a suspected prowler.
- Friday arrests a fellow student after their night school class and incurs the wrath of Professor Grant, who expels him after a vote of the other students at their next meeting. Friday demands a chance to plead his case to the students before a second vote is taken. Grant says he must garner 2/3 of the votes to be reinstated.
- Cletus and Wilse Mott have been tracking a bear ever since it killed their pappy three years ago, but after it kills Wilse, Cletus' obsession becomes a mania. Daniel and Mingo decide the bear must be killed when it threatens Boonesborough, but Mott warns them off saying the bear is his. When Daniel kills the bear to save Mott's life, he turns on him.
- A problem with ethics soon puts a lovely new lady pharmacist on the town's black list over withholding pills from a senior citizen simply because she has no prescription for her regular medication.
- Ellie crosses the line when she insists on a farm girl wearing make-up and perfume against her hard-pressed father's wishes, leading Barney to commit an abduction.
- Something was badly wrong on the ship that crashed on rocks in broad daylight and sank. Vicky, who discovered the only injured man and a nearby dog while riding on the beach, solves the mystery from various comments, the captain's papers, and a dictionary.
- William Blunt, an old friend of Boone's, steals a wagon carrying fifty rifles and powder, which he intends to sell to the Shawnee. Daniel, along with Mingo and Jericho, must find Blunt and recover the rifles before a deal with the chief is made.
- A forest ranger is brought in when checks and credit cards bearing other names than his own are found in his possession after he is stopped for a traffic violation. Even though he seems to be knowledgeable on the subject of forestry, his answers about the cards and checks lead Friday and Gannon to suspect he is a thief just posing as a ranger.
- Cisco and Pancho come upon Klondike, who was just robbed of his wagon and freight. Upon hearing the bad news, Elaine, the hot-headed owner of Western Freighting Co., takes a couple of shots at Bill Jarrett, owner of Jarrett Stage Line, which is soon to open. She thinks Jarrett, to whom she refuses to sell her company, Cisco and Pancho are in cahoots in order to force her out of business. She's not convinced otherwise, even after Cisco and Pancho find and return her now empty wagon. When Cisco hears of a test run that Jarrett is making the next day, he figures out a way to clear their names and catch the real crooks.
- 1960–196830mTV-Y7.3 (221)TV EpisodeGoober finds out Andy is taking Aunt Bee and Opie to the auto show in Raleigh and asks to go along, confident they'll get free samples when salesmen find out he's a "big operator." At the hotel, Goober calls up Roy Swanson, an old friend from trade school, to see how he's doing and to brag a little. They meet at the show and Goober is surprised to find out that Roy is a senior vice-president in charge of engineering with Amalgamated Motors. After hearing about a fellow student, Goober tells Roy he has a chain of stations instead of just one. When Roy meets the Taylors and invites them to dinner, Goober says it's his treat and chooses the finest restaurant in Raleigh. At dinner, Goober, out of his element, tries to act like a big shot but things don't work out and Roy finds out the truth. As they prepare to go home the next day, Andy unsuccessfully tries to cheer up a dejected Goober, who feels like a complete failure. Stopping for gas, Andy gets a bottle of pop and sees Roy, covered in grease, working on a car. He calls Goober over and asks him if he'd like to say hello to an old friend but Goober declines, saying he wouldn't want to embarrass him.
- When Goober hears that Wally has the gas station up for sale, he decides the time has come for him to become a businessman. With Andy and Emmett acting as co-signers, he borrows the money and is soon the proud owner of his own business. His idea of being a business executive may be a bit off kilter however. His first act is to hire an employee to do the manual work while he does all of the 'thinking.' Only problem is, he's not much of businessman and Andy and Emmett start to wonder what they have got themselves into when Goober starts to make some pretty serious errors, like forgetting to order gas. When Goober reads about a well-educated man who lost millions when he became head of his company, he loses all confidence in himself.

Feeling the man needs family support in addition to the care and therapy he's getting in the hospital, Marcus tries to get his estranged wife and daughter to visit him.
- A college girl hurries home after being raped by two men, one of whom kills the other at the scene and flees. Kojak suspects a rape by two men, and sets out to identify the woman as well as the other rapist, while the father of the girl sets out to kill the surviving rapist.
- Friday and Gannon are assigned to investigate Norm Bivins and Earl Malone, veteran homicide investigators accused of stealing $800 from a dead man. Agnes Emerson, who handled the man's business affairs, claims she gave Bivins and Malone his personal property, including $1000. They say the amount received was $200. Unfortunately, neither side can produce a receipt.
- Josh inherits a section of land and a slave to teach him how to farm. When two men show up in Boonesborough, one with a reputation as a fighter, Josh, who has no interest in farming, sets up a bout between the man and Jonah, who fought for Josh's uncle at one time, and risks his land. When Jonah refuses to fight, Josh must take his place and try to win the bet.
- Friday and Gannon have less than two hours to find the dog that bit a little girl five days earlier. Normally, treatment consists of serum injections followed by vaccine inoculations, but in this case the girl is highly allergic to the anti-rabies serum and it could kill her.
- Walters and Brinkman are on a roll lately and like to brag, much to the irritation of Reed. He and Malloy help them out by finishing one of their calls, then rescue a sick teenage girl and arrest the young man who took her in. Back on patrol, they meet an informant who gives them a tip on a big drug buy scheduled for 11pm. They give the info to Sgt. Miller who asks them to help in the bust. They banter with Walters and Brinkman during meal break then take a prowler call before it's time to set up for the big drug meet at 10pm. The bust is a bust and called off at 12:15am when nobody shows. The next day they find out Walters and Brinkman gave the buyer a traffic ticket at 10:30pm.
- Pete and Jim have to contend with a mysterious noise in the squad car while dealing with grand theft horse, a naive teenage waif, and a robbery suspect who makes fake calls to distract the police.
- While Malloy is attending college, radicals learn he is a cop. They reject him stressing him on the job. After helping arrest demonstrators, his new car is vandalized. When a timer is found missing, he locates and disarms a bomb using it.
- New gamekeeper Ted Hewitt sets out snares and traps on Lord Eddington's estate to protect game and catch poachers. This doesn't sit well with Dr. Gordon, who, with daughter Vicky, pays him a visit. While the men talk, Vicky learns the man's wife, Beth, is pregnant and doesn't seem well. She refuses to take it easy so Vicky visits often to help with her chores. When Beth collapses, Vicky must run for the doctor and gets caught in a snare. Beauty must get help.
- Mayberry gussies up for a Hollywood film crew - exactly what the visiting Hollywood producer and Andy don't want.
- Andy suspects that Barney and a few other citizens have been taken in by a slick music-recording man from out of town.
- Heading home on a stagecoach, Mark and Lucas are entertained by a little old lady's stories of gunslingers and her scrapbook of wanted posters. Little do they know she's a bounty hunter with her sights set on Duke Jennings, who's headed to Northfork.
- Ed Brown runs into officer Ray Leonard, an old friend moonlighting as a cab driver and finds a package of drugs in his taxi. Returning to find the previous fare, Leonard shoots the man three times, killing him. Suspected of drug trafficking, both policemen are promptly suspended pending an investigation. Ironside and his team also investigate to clear Ed.
- Discord at a museum when Man in Harmony, an 11' tall, 3-ton stone sculpture, disappears at its own unveiling. Banacek has two days to find out who walked off with it.
- When Helen tells Andy Opie isn't doing too well in math, he's pretty relaxed about it. She recommends that Opie should do a bit more homework and he agrees. Barney, however, thinks Andy's attitude is completely off base. Barney starts talking about how Opie may not get into college and the like and gets Aunt Bee all worried. Soon, Andy is just as stressed and he tells Opie to buckle down and cut out the play time. Helen soon reports to him that since they last spoke of Opie, he is actually doing much worse and not only in math. Andy can't understand since he's been quite strict with Opie who has done nothing but study. Helen suggests that that may just be the problem.
- Ex-cop Mel Grayson kills his wife and carries out an elaborate plan to mislead police and establish an alibi for himself. Mrs. Grayson appears to have been killed while he was dining with his old friend Ironside. Chief Ironside suspects Grayson immediately, explaining to Ed that her murder while her husband was with him is just too convenient.
- Kanati Green is shot and killed in front of Mingo after telling him of Indians being driven from their own land and giving him the title to his land at Logan's Fort. The title has been transferred to his father, a stubborn man who will not be driven off the property. Before delivering the deed Mingo stops by Daniel's cabin for a make-over.
- As Friday and Gannon investigate a series of robberies, a vindictive woman, Jean Sawyer, makes a pest of herself by calling headquarters repeatedly to accuse her husband of the thefts. The detectives investigate John Sawyer and find no evidence against him, but the man responsible for three of the robberies is found and arrested.
- Andy lectures Opie on the value of keeping one's promise then later asks him to break it to reveal the identity of the runaway kid he just met and befriended, leaving Opie confused.
- When someone yells horse thief, Flint shoots a man only to find he is the husband of a childhood friend. Flint learns the man is mayor and highly respected. The question of whether he killed an innocent man bothers him and the man's son.
- Amy Winthrop's nephew steals Beauty after his aunt refuses to give him fifty pounds to get out of debt to a bookie who is threatening him. To save Beauty and her nephew, Amy must pawn her jewelry and hurry to the auction to bid on the horse.
- In Salem, Boone is mistaken for one of two army deserters bounty hunter Simon Harman is searching for. Harman intends to return both men to Fort Savage until he learns of Daniel's true identity. He can get much more money for Boone if he turns him over to the British in Quebec.
- Wounded Bill Strode arrives in camp looking for Flint. Strode, who saved Flint's life in Abilene, asks Flint to help him get to Fort Kearny. Flint learns the itchy Strode is being hunted by bounty hunter Earl Packer and Strode has changed.
- Red Sky, a Shawnee brave, thinks he is invincible after Daniel gives him his rifle for saving Israel's life. When several white men kill some braves, Daniel wants them brought to trial but Red Sky is determined to mete out Shawnee justice, which could start a war.
- Three trappers violate a peace treaty and wound Cherokee Chief Nefromo. His son Canuda kidnaps Rebecca and Israel before ordering the settlers in the area to leave within a day.
- In order to stop the British from taking Fort Cumberland, Governor Patrick Henry of Virginia recruits Daniel to lead a small group of men to blow up a bridge at Stover Station. In order to get there in three days they must travel through dangerous Tuscarora territory with the help of Tuscarora Chief Catahecassa.
- A spirited black horse escapes from a dealer and is found ailing by Vicky Gordon, who quickly falls in love with him. Vicky's father, the new doctor in town, treats the horse's illness and refuses to surrender him until he's well. The owner agrees to let the horse stay a few days before he takes him to be sold. When the owner falls ill the doctor hurries on horseback to save his life. Soon after, the man gives the horse to the doctor.
- Emile Hartman reports the theft of $100,000 worth of quality furs and his delivery van. Friday and Gannon aren't having much luck until an insurance agent reports a call from a man selling fur coats. When he calls back a meeting is set up. The furrier must then give Gannon a crash course in furs so the detectives can pose as buyers to make the arrest.
