- Adelmo, a thirtyish youth, still lives with his mother in a little mountain village and spends most of his time riding his bike. One day he is run over by Paola, a recently widowed girl, who is the new doctor in town. Paola is impressed by Adelmo's likeness with her late husband and falls in love with him. Their love story is contrasted by the other inhabitants of the village.
