Goren soon realizes that Trudeau had ghost-written most of Blakemore's written works, that the murder was intended to undermine Blakemore's career, and that the laptop contained most of Trudeau's recent and unpublished works. A low-level criminal is arrested for the murder, but Goren and Eames find out that the guy has been working as a henchman for a judge with shady activities, called Raoul Sabatelli. Sabatelli has been a professional rival of Blakemore since their college years, he personally hates Blakemore, and he has published satirical texts about Blakemore's incompetence. Goren has to both convince the henchman that his boss considers him expendable, and to find evidence against Sabatelli.
