Carter goes undercover as a driver and meets Stickley, one of the gang, on the dummy run, but, come the actual robbery, Stickley has been replaced by Quirk's informant, to whom he has fed wrong information, in order to settle an old score with Quirk. As a consequence, the police operation is a failure.
