- When Willi's father is abducted and is only released for a valuable statue from his art collection, Tim is the only one who believes Willi that the police are on the wrong track. Together with the smart policeman's daughter Gaby and the highly intelligent outsider Karl, they start to investigate on their own. Against all odds the four discover a conspiracy. In the course of their first big detective adventure they grow together into a committed community, and so Tim, Klöschen, Karl and Gaby become the band TKKG.
- "Why can't everything just stay the way it is?" asks Krause at the beginning of the story. At Sunday lunch, he realized with indignation that Paula had changed the inn's menu and now offers vegetarian dishes. He reacts furiously to Mayor Stübner's idea to transform Schönhorst into a holiday village. Everyone in town is talking about the future, has everyone conspired against him? State Secretary Hummel has her eye on Krauses pastures. The dry field, which hardly gives the horses any food, would be an ideal location for wind turbines. Meta wants to accept the purchase offer, but Krause is strictly against it. He stands alone in an argument with his sister: Elsa has no opinion on this. When Krause meets the singer Fanny again, he gets to know her elderly father. What kind of perspective does the centenarian have when the coal mine devours his house? Krause slowly begins to understand that he has to do something for the future. What has to change so that everything can stay the way it is?
- Horst Krause liest auf der winterlichen Landstraße ein Mädchen auf und bringt es zurück ins "Kinderhaus Sonnenschein" im Nachbarort. Damit kommt eine Reihe von Ereignissen in Gang, die in der Adventszeit ein paar große und kleine Gäste in den Landgasthof in Schönhorst spült. Bald schon freundet sich Paulas (Pauline Knof) Sohn Timo (Cai Cohrs) mit dem gleichaltrigen Samuel (Phileas Heyblom) an, der auch im Kinderheim aufwächst. Zu gerne würde Samuel in die Krause-Familie aufgenommen werden. Doch dann taucht Samuels leibliche Mutter (Bianca Nawrath) auf und möchte, dass ihr Sohn wieder bei ihr lebt. So haben Krause und seine Schwestern Elsa (Carmen-Maja Antoni) und Meta (Angelika Böttiger) mit ihrer bunt zusammengewürfelten Wahlfamilie alle Hände voll zu tun. Und es warten noch einige weitere Weihnachtsüberraschungen auf sie.
