1. Along Came a Spider (2001)
Detective/psychologist Alex Cross loses his partner in an out of control 'bust.' He stops working and cannot forgive himself. He is drawn back to work reluctantly when a senator's daughter is kidnapped and the kidnapper seems to want to deal with Alex personally.
The daughter of a senator has been kidnapped. The kidnapper then calls police detective and forensic psychologist, Alex Cross. Cross then goes and tries to help them find the girl. He is aided by the secret service agent who was assigned to protect the girl. But there's a lot more going on.
A teacher at a school for children of politicians kidnaps a senator's daughter after 2 years. He is revealed to be a criminal wearing a mask of the teacher and contacts a criminal psychologist to play cat and mouse. Cross believes he is being involved to ensure the kidnapper will attain fame. Confirmed by copycat of the Lindenburgh kidnapping and books about the case found in his hideout. However it is a deception using an unsuspecting accomplice and hides another plot the profiler is blind to.
2. Kiss the Girls (1997)
Alex Cross, a Washington D.C. cop and forensic psychologist learns that his niece who is going to college in North Carolina is missing. So he goes there and learns that the police think she's among the victims of someone who kidnaps young girls and holds them captive and kills them who dubs himself Cassanova after the great lover. Later Kate, one of his victims, escapes and tries to help Cross find his niece.
Washington DC detective Dr. Alex Cross travels to North Carolina to investigate the apparent kidnapping of his niece. Aided by escaped kidnapee Kate McTiernan, Cross hunts down the kidnapper, who operates under the pseudonym "Casanova".
3. Alex Cross (2012)
Dr. Alex Cross is on his last police duty to track down an assassin called Picasso, who's been torturing and killing rich businessmen in Detroit. Soon when the mission gets personal, Cross is pushed to the edge of his moral and psychological limits to end this once and for all.
Detective Alex Cross is investigating a gruesome murder. He thinks who the killer's next target is and goes there and sure enough the killer shows up. But Cross stops him. Later while Cross is out with his wife, the killer calls him because he doesn't like failing. Cross then sees he has a gun on his wife and he tries to save her but doesn't. He also learns that a cop he works with was also killed. Cross and his partner then set out to find the man even if it means breaking the law.
After Detroit detective Alex Cross is told that a family member has been murdered, he vows to track down the killer. He soon discovers that she was not his first victim and that things are not what they seem.
