Born in Mamaroneck, New York, Wayne's lengthy career spans TV, radio, theatre, and nightclubs. He launched his network TV career as the Cop on "Laverne & Shirley," moving on to countless other and starring for two seasons on his own NBC sitcom, "13 East."
Powers is a accomplished jazz vocalist/recording artist, a veteran of the top west coast nightclubs and jazz festivals. He and his "Hoi Polloi" band recorded an acclaimed 1993 CD, "Plain Old Me." 2018 marked Wayne's long-anticipated return to the recording studio with a top jazz quartet for "If Love Were All," his first new album in 25 years.
A national voice over artist, his work spans from animation to TV commercials, including "Budman" for Budweiser, and "Wayne," (the original talking Windex bird on TV commercials for 15 years).
Powers has done substantial work on radio as a talk show host, including as frequent Guest Host / Special Programming Host on Charlotte's 50,000-watt heritage station, News Talk 1110 WBT for over 5 years. He also hosted "The Wayne Powers Show," the flagship morning show on another heritage station, WKZO in Kalamazoo.

Wayne Powers has written features including Paramount's The Italian Job starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron and Edward Norton.
Wayne was writing network TV movies at the age twenty-two. He spent four years on the writing staffs for award-winning network dramas. He then turned to studio features including Warner Brothers' Deep Blue Sea starring Samuel Jackson.
He wrote and executive produced Out Of Order, a Showtime Network limited series starring Felicity Huffman, Eric Stoltz, William Macy and Peter Bogdanovich. Wayne produced a documentary for the Showtime Network that was also featured on the Oprah show (and yes, she is very nice). He just completed his micro-budget independent dark comedy Loves Me, Loves Me Not.- Actor
