Scott Christopher Grimes is an American actor and singer from Lowell, Massachusetts who is known for playing as Steve Smith from American Dad, Kevin Swanson from Family Guy, Will McCorkle from Party of Five, Bradley Brown from Critters 1 and 2 and Lieutenant Gordon Malloy from The Orville. Cailleah Scott-Grimes is a Toronto-based writer-director. From death positivity to struggles with gender identity, Cailleah's work brings an intimate lens to transgressive topics that are difficult to talk about. Working in both documentary and fiction, their films have been featured on CBC Short Docs, Air Canada, and Cinema Politica. Their work has screened at 60+ international festivals, including Hot Docs, BFI Flare, and Outfest LA. They are also a creative partner at JbyJ Production, which specializes in serving Japanese and other Asian Canadian communities.
In 2021, Cailleah received the Lindalee Tracey Award for their Master's thesis film "Between Us" (2020), set in their former home of Yamagata, Japan. The film received a Best Director Jury Award at Image+Nation, Best Short Film Jury Prize at Rozefilmdagen and was a finalist for the 2021 Iris Prize, the world's largest award for LGBTQ+ short films.
Cailleah holds an MFA in Film from York University (2020) and is an alum of Stowe Story Labs and the Women in the Director's Chair (WIDC) Career Advancement Module.- Editorial Department
