Robert Ames is a Conductor and Composer known for his work on Phantom Thread (2017), Atropia (2024), TÁR (2022) and All Quiet On The Western Front (2022). He was the youngest ever shortlisted nominee for the Royal Philharmonic Society's Conductor award in 2019, is the co-Founder, Artistic Director and Principle Conductor of the London Contemporary Orchestra and an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
Robert regularly collaborates with Oscar winning and nominated composers Hildur Gudnadottir, Volker Bertelmann and Jonny Greenwood. He is known for his interpretations of American Minimalists John Luther Adams, Philip Glass, John Adams and Steve Reich. Recently performing with The Rotterdam Philharmonic, Philharmonia, BBC Concert Orchestra and Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
