Patrick Gallagher was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, and grew up in Chilliwack, BC. He is of Irish and Chinese descent. Gallagher graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada in 1993. He began his career in Toronto working in the theater, in film and on television. In 2003 he gave a strong performance as Awkward Davies in Peter Weir's Oscar-nominated Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003). His next role was Det. Joe Finn in the seventh season of the highly acclaimed Canadian television drama Da Vinci's Inquest (1998), carrying that character into the new series Da Vinci's City Hall (2005). He will also be remembered as Gary the Bartender in Alexander Payne's multi-award-winning Sideways (2004).
He is a big supporter of the independent film scene, and has played numerous roles in projects by emerging filmmakers. He resides in Los Angeles, and is a dual US/Canadian citizen.- Actor

Patrick Gallagher has had a storied life from which he derives his inspiration and passion for film making. As a child actor from Brooklyn, he worked with the likes of Elliott Gould, Dana Andrews, Cecily Tyson, George C Scott & E.G. Marshall. After being honorably discharged from the Army Special Forces, he went on to successfully run and own his own trading company on the Chicago Board of Options Exchange/Chicago Board of Trade. After 25 years of success on Wall Street, Patrick entered into film finance in the early 1990's and became instrumental in creatively producing over 30 films for companies such as New Line Cinema, Artisan, and Trimark. Patrick produced and executed the business model which launched several companies where he produced and acted with Powers Booth, William H. Macy, Gary Busey, and Rod Steiger. Some of his films include Crash, NARC and In Enemy Hands. Patrick also served as a stunt actor and special consultant for military and high action/stunt scenes working with Spanky Spangler on several action genre films.- Actor
